I've found no matter what company you go to - there will always be people that can tell you horror stories. There is no company out there that is going to have 100% customer service score - NONE! I have heard horror stories about sprint, t-mobile, att, and verizon. So the best way to look at it is pick your poison and hope for the best.

p.s. T-mobile and Sprint basically have the same coverage where I live

Verizon just bends you over price wise, AT&T is just as bad but their coverage also blows and T-mobile has great plan prices and so so coverage, they are just a small company over here but they are growing. As for Sprint it is a mixed bag, Coverage is pretty good and prices are okay. But as you stated you can hear horror stories about them all.

No problem at all! I was just getting frustrated because if you look back through the earlier pages I say something and then the whole next day 10 people regurgitate it like I never said a thing. I was beginning to think I would have to change my name to SUPERSONICAL #2 to get my point across.

I went to Best Buy and Radio Shack today. I ask the Best Buy gentlemen in the mobile department when he thought that the Evo will come out. Get this he said May 22nd. I asked him if he was lying to me. So, he tried to look it up on the computer nothing, than he calls "sprint" or his boss idk anyways they told him June 22nd. I said thanks. We talked about the differences between the incredible and the evo. Evo will be better than the incredible. I walked over to Radio Shack (Both are in my mall) and I held the hd 2 by t-mobile dang that phone is huge! I asked them when I could pre order the evo he said he didn't know yet. I ask him when he thought that it would be dropped. Told me in July..oi. I can't wait till the 12th to know for sure.. Good grief.

Until the 12th there's gonna be a lot of throwing shit on the wall and seeing if it sticks. We all just have to bear with it.

You basically got their opinions, many CSRs are in the dark just as much as you are. Plus, with the advent of the Internet, we even get their training materials!

I noticed that as well. Maybe like ts they are on vacation or they are super busy. Its really odd. 5 days till we get offical evo info. Glad it passed the fcc or whatever thats called. And I don't ignore anyones posts

Man I hate that NO ONE knows ANYTHING for POSITIVE yet! It's crazy how many different "speculations" you can get in ONE day LOL. I'm ecstatic that we are just days away from knowing more *hopefully*! Just have to hang in there, it's exciting for everyone to see the "FCC PASSING THE EVO" documents now floating around. I'm still optimistic/hopeful an early release pops up...BUT I'm surely anticipating June 6th!

Honestly if it comes out in July or August I may see if the Galaxy S comes out before that and stay on T-Mobile if it does. I mean I really can't complain I have every feature with unlimited calling for $79.99 a month and no contract. I am so impatient for the Evo! I was almost this bad when Sprint was getting the Pre. Then I got it day one, I loved the OS but between poor build quality and horrible Sprint service (in my house only) I was like AHHHHH!

After looking around and asking people that know, they said mw alone can not tell you if it is a good or bad radio. But they also point out that it really depends on the construction and interference with the antenna. And than in most cases 140-210 mw are more then enough power.

What is really clear from the FCC is that the evo could have really good battery life.

Someone earlier in the thread said we should be able to do WiMax and voice at the same time. That's great!!

The question is, has Sprint loaded the software for this feature?
I remember reading somewhere that HTC said, it's not a hardware limitation keeping this feature from becoming reality.

From what I have read, they are testing it, but it will not be able to do it. Perhaps after a software update?

I had t-mobile pre paid and their coverage here sucks. My hubby and I will stick with sprint. My pre is acting up grr..come on evo where are u evo.. LOL Maybe the Evo will be better in your house since its a as big as the td2..just a thought and much bigger than the Pre.

I called radio shack today and asked them if they knew anything about the EVO and the girls goes "what do you want to know"? So I said whatever you have lol... She wanted to take my name/# down b/c they were doing pre-orders and that most likely it was coming out in June...pretty much what has been the word everywhere now!! The BB I called though didn't start doing pre-orders but said very soon b/c June release looked to be the case!!

Me personally, I can't see why stores would be doing pre-orders so soon if the phone wasn't coming out soon!! Just doesn't make sense... so since they are I think it's safe to say that it's coming sooner then later!!!

I'm happy about all the info that's been shared here in this forum by many people, and I've taken a lot of it, especially lately with a little more then a grain of salt! But I'm holding out for May 12th and hope that it truly is a day were things come to light and we can become better informed!! I hope it's not a bust and that it even happens for that matter!!

Not very useful for most, but if you are a small business owner and have a Tax ID number, you might want to think about trying for the $100 credit.

Does anybody know if this can be applied through a 3rd party purchase? I do have a tax ID number, but I am planning on buying the phone from Radio Shack.

Also would I be able to change a number after the contract is started? I was planning on just getting a new number and squashing my old one, but an extra 100 bucks off would be worth keeping the same number when changing carriers.

I feel the same way..grr so annoying. My husband gets annoyed with me because I always want to upgrade to the latest and new phone via sprint. Except for the Moment and Hero. But the evo will be the baddest boy on the block LOL

Actually I was looking at Sprint coverage maps and it seems it has gotten better in my neighborhood. I had great signal everywhere even on the sidewalk in front of my house but not in it. I used to work in the cell industry and I know certain structures equal bad reception. But I have great reception with Verizon T-mobile,Cricket and even ....yuck AT&T. Truth be told I had so so reception with my original Instinct too. I thought the Pre had a weak antenna but when I had a Pre with VZW it was fine! I am hoping the new expanded coverage will make up for it or I guess I will have to buy an Airave because I really want the EVO!!! After I had the HD2 with that huge screen even the 3.7 inch screen on my Desire is not acceptable.
