I am currently a Samsung Galaxy S4 owner, but am looking seriously at moving over to the LG G4.

I maintain my contacts and calendar schedules in Outlook on my pc as my principle working tool during the main part of my day.
When I am happy that everything is up to date in Outlook on my pc I sync it to my phone's contacts and calendar using Samsung's dreadful Kies product! Not a great product, but it works and is easy to use. Quite user-friendly. That is the only function I use it for!

My question is; is there a similar process/product to achieve the same thing on the G4?

I am 99.9% mind-made-up regarding the purchase of the G4, but this is the last nagging worry I have.

I believe the S4 does have an SD Card slot. If you get the G4, I (imo) would get an SD card for the S4, copy all to SD card and then transfer SD card to the G4. I back my contacts up several ways, Gmail, CM Cloud and SD card. Seems Gmail messes them up a lot :) Then, when you do install Outlook, just in case, its better safe then sorry :) I personally love the G4, use their stock mail program. Hate the mails with all the color going on (Gmail app). And still have a great experience with it.

I don't believe there's anything similar to Kies in the G4 - I'm currently running on an LG G3, and my wife runs a Samsung Note 4. You might consider looking at the product called Companionlink. I used it for a few years, and it allowed me to sync my Samsung S3 via USB cable to outlook. I was familiar with this type of setup as it resembled the ancient Palm days with a cradle to sync my device to my PC. Companionlink allows the synchronization of Outlooks calendar, contacts, notes, and even tasks with your phone - they've recently offered a cloud version of their software, and while it might be a good answer for you, I've never used it. Their cloud version came out after I quit using their product.

Another consideration is to go with a cloud based sync. I'm now using g-mail to sync my phone to my outlook PST file. The company that administers my g-mail account an provides the setup and all customer support is located here in North Carolina, and they're called Neonova (http://neonova.net/ ). I put my entire organization on their support, and they mimic an outlook exchange solution for a very cost effective dollar amount. Neonova offers residential and business service, and you may find them worth investigating. My contacts, and calendar are synced via the cloud and my phone, my desktop running outlook, and google calendar are all synced at all times. If you're a heavy outlook task and memo user, this may not be the right solution for you.

I have my G4 for a full week now. It does not sync. The old LG PC Suite is not compatible with the G4 and the new LG Bridge does backups and firmware upgrades only. I have been testing a few 3rd party apps and so far, I haven't found anything that suit me requirements. My contact list of 624 is now on 3120 with "duplicates"
