Help Send and receive sms through computer

i was wondering if there are any softwares now to connect the phone to the computer and send and receive sms through it...

Basically my brother is considering buying an Android but the fact that there isnt a software to connect to the computer and send and receive sms is something that pulls him back..

I know you can send a message to a phone through the PC specific to each carrier. IE Telus send sms text message here

You can use pdanet to tether your phone and send sms that way, but you have to be connected by usb.

I really do miss: phone explorer (FJ Software Development )

There are some people that have Sony Ericsson phones and do not change brand because of this software!!!
It was amazing!

Ah.... nevermind

I dont want to be connected through any other connection, i am interested in connecting the phone just through wire to the computer.

If you have a Motorola phone, there is nothing to worry as you get the built-in Phone Portal that allows you to do that.

Apart from that there are quite a few apps to do this and a quick search in the Applications Forum will help you a lot.

ok thanks i will try the Phone Portal...

However i couldn't find in the forum any other application for this. Not through data connection, not through wifi, straight through wire.

How exactly do you want to be able to send the SMSes? Can you please explain?

Hello,I m Engg student now in Last Year.I m doing project realted to Android,And my problem statement is Lab monitoring through android.So please tell me wht could be the parameters for this ? means what all parameters are possbile to monitor through android Api's.Plz help me.I dont want any Software.I hve to develop a monitoring tool for lab.
