Root HELP! Lost LTE!

As good of a guess as any. Who knows. It's really weird though. I don't think I've ever seen so much variation in development quirks in a device. Some people have zero issues, some can't get rear camera to work, some lose LTE and get it back somehow, some like us just get the shaft. Really strange.
Mine came with zv4 so I had to downgrade if it matters

How did you get a new phone from sprint?

Also wanted to say that the problem doesn't exist in the /carrier partition like I thought it did at one time. When you reactivate, even if you wiped out your /carrier like I did and ended up with lg as your carrier, ##786# and full reset with your msl will repopulate that partition and show your carrier again. Can't be the modem partitions either, reflashing the modem doesn't fix it. It has to be either a bad flash caused a hardware problem or an advanced data menu setting, which I'm leaning more towards the latter after the week or so straight i had of messing with things.

Note: I used DD and zeroed out my carrier partition because why not? My volt is broke already, DO NOT DO THIS THOUGH IF YOUR DEVICE IS WORKING FINE!

Also, I'm speaking of the issue where signal drops out every other minute and lte is completely lost but ehrpd still tries to connect. The kind that a simple APN flash won't fix. If your LTE works on a stock ROM or after the carrier apn zip flash, disregard what I'm saying completely, your issue is different from what I have and am chasing down.

Anyone else have the same issue I do? Please sound off here so I know who to brainstorm and try different ideas with.
I also have this issue. I do not have lte connection just 3g. It's ehrpd and it loses connext ion so often. I don't know what to do to get lte bacl. It's disappointing. I was thinking my radio got borked or something so maybe flashing a zv5 or lower rom to get back the original settings?

I got IT!!! Dudes I have not had LTE for MONTHS.
I just used the combo written above.
Twrp 2.8.5.0
WIPE ALL (except external sd)
Candy rom
GAPPS
Boost APN fix
Change APN
  • Fix the one called APN1 BOOST Internet LTE
  • Proxy=0
  • Port=0
  • SAVE
I just DELETED the second one and selected the first after I "fixed" it.

LTE sticks when restoring a kitkat backup after this process!!

wow... after a week reading through everything and trying everything... I just got LTE on my phone. I bought it about a week ago at Best Buy for the Sprint prepaid. LTE didn't work out of the box, I was about to take it back and exchange it, but I just did something that made it work. I'm on the stock zv5, even though my phone was zv4 out of the box. I did not have LTE on zv4 and was hoping the OTA zv5 upgrade would give it to me, it did not. I literally tried everything... updating the PRL, updating the profile, reset my phone to factory defaults and doing it all over again, I even tried flashing a radio file, but nothing worked. Oddly enough, I was going through the ##DATA# menu last night, hit APN Settings and used the menu option of "Reset to default". It removed the usual APN settings I've seen on my phone all the times before and put some weird generic ones in there. This kinda put my phone in limbo... 3g worked when I set the network to CDMA only, but I never got any data connection at all on LTE/CDMA. Tonight I just decided to update the PRL and then the Profile... after doing that, I went into the APN Settings again and everything was back. Turned off wifi and changed my network setting back to LTE/CDMA... LTE light up almost instantly... so weird that doing this, out of all things, made it work... but finally.

I went and dusted off my sprint volt (paid for new service to) just to try this out, because I had tried EVERYTHING. Followed everything you said and... Nothing, still 3g.

Reading through all this, other threads and my own experience leads me to believe that anything can trigger the LTE fix. Too bad it's just different for everyone.
