Thank you, Pup :)

Well, since this thread has risen from its ashes, after over two years, I can imagine there's enough fresh ink to share here.
Bring it on, folks :D

I've only got one, something I picked off the wall years ago, straight outta boot camp.
However,I've went through this entire thread & got an idea for a new one.
Gonna mull it over, biggest concern is being side-lined from platelet donation, regulations vary from state-to-state.
I'll definitely show the new work,if/when I get it.
Adding this thread to the follow list............

Just checked w/the organization that I donate platelets to:
I'm good to go,I live in a state that licenses tattoo parlors.
This is the AmericanRedCross standard:
http://www.redcrossblood.org/donati...nts/eligibility-criteria-alphabetical-listing

Wait 12 months after a tattoo if the tattoo was applied in a state that does not regulate tattoo facilities. Currently, the only states that DO NOT regulate tattoo facilities are: District of Columbia, Georgia, Idaho, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, Utah and Wyoming. This requirement is related to concerns about hepatitis. Learn more about hepatitis and blood donation.

A tattoo is acceptable if the tattoo was applied by a state-regulated entity using sterile needles and ink that is not reused. Cosmetic tattoos applied in a licensed establishment in a regulated state using sterile needles and ink that is not reused is acceptable. You should discuss your particular situation with the health historian at the time of donation.

Sooooooo,I'm visiting a tattoo parlor tomorrow,we'll see what happens............

Hrm... in California, the blood center wants us to wait six weeks after; which has kept me from donating so far this year...

That's prolly just an "Above & Beyond" decision/policy by that particular blood center, unless Cali state regs are different & take precedent.
The organization that I donate platelets to adds a small requirement on to the RedCross standard:
The site of the tattoo must be completely healed up (no scabbing/swelling/redness/etc...),otherwise,you're good to go.

ARIGHTEE,was getting a bit lazy on my "Sunday" b4 returning to work, but,I'm off, going to the parlor momentarily,to get a sketch/est. of my next tatt.
If not too much, will get it today & post some pix when possible.
:thumbsupdroid:Y'all have a chill & kick-ass day.:thumbsupdroid:

Over here in the Netherlands all tattoo parlors must have licences, use sterile NEW needles everytime and do not reuse ink. It all sounds like the same thing. The one difference there is, is the price. Over here the price for one hour tattoo work is mostly around $ 140 .

I just don't fancy having a tat done at the moment. Frankly I don't really know what I'd have done anyway.
