Whenever I get an incoming phone call I get a pop up message say that I have no internet connection and my phone drops to 1x. I am on Verizon. Does anyone know if this an S6 problem or a carrier problem?

Help Lost 4G During Phone Calls

Isn't that a long standing feature of Verizon, or the particular tech they use, in that you can't have a phone call and wireless data simultaneously.

There are three different levels of solution/explanation ( and general levels) of this.
1) VoLTE - voice over LTE- you have simultaneous Voice and fast Data all on LTE..you can be on the Web, surfing,typing a long email and the phone will take the call-and you won't lose your place on Web etc.
Or you can be on a Call and look up things on the Web while you speak all on fast LTE..no glitches.
2) Simultaneous voice and data but if you are on LTE the Phone will drop to 3G,H,H+ for the call but you will still have Data and ability to go on Web etc.
However- sometimes a glitch when phone changes Bands- and you lose Internet for 1 to 30 seconds..may have to retype the email or reload Site etc... but you can be still on the call when you do.
3) No Data during calls- on my International Factory Alpha- IF I have the wrong APN (less optimum) or weak signal # 3 happens.
Usually #2 happens often with no glitch but Data slows during call.
Suggest you call Verizon because their Tech will know how your Phone Model should behave on their Network.
At this time for VoLTE -usually Network Carrier Software is needed so you need a a VoLTE capable phone with Carrier Branding.
For #2 above many Medium and Premium Phones have simultaneous Voice and Data - ask your Carrier....and S6 should do that on most Carriers even Factory Unlocked.
Check with Carrier....check SIM ....check Settings and APN.
