My wife has this phone and I want to like it. We had the LG G Vista and they were nice. The issue I have with this phone is whenever you activate a different app it's like the last app (and all others) lose what was stored in memory.

Even just switching between browser tabs causes the tab to be reloaded every time. She uses Pandora over Bluetooth a lot and normally when she gets out of her vehicle, Pandora will pause and pick back up when she gets back in. Now she has to open the Pandora app and restart it every time.

Is this normal? Is it a feature or bug in Lollipop or just something we have to live with?

1- to you have " Merge Tab and Apps " Enable or Disable? I don't know how many open browser taps you or your wife open at the same time but that alone eats Ram and yeah will activeted the memory management and start empty it the Ram/Closing other apps.
Just saying that cuz i have a friend who had like 37 tab open ,some apps (FB Messenger, instagram, tweeter and few more) and was wondering why the lag on the phone.

2. Did you had this issue before with the other phone?

3. You said she uses pandora on her vehicle meanning via car stereo and need to reconnect bluetooth? If that the case can be normal for Pandora app or is how pandora acts when detects is been use by different source.

4. If you are Root Disable start-up apps that really dont need or use

Even if you are not Rooted, you can use the "Greenify" app and the "Hibernate Now" widget to manual click widget to have it automatically kill some apps like Facebook, Box, Dropbox, Drippler, Zite, etc. I do this after a reboot and also about once or twice a day.

Or you can use sd_maid pro too... Scan app control click in app toggle startup n turn off.

Jesus for a new phone with a quad core and 5.7" screen this thing only comes with 1GB of memory. No wonder my old rooted HTC One SV isn't a slouch compared to it. I'm kind of glad I didn't buy one when my wife did.

I'll see if she will try one of the suggested apps.
Hopefully I can talk her into rooting it soon and see how much it improves. But then her phone problems become my problems. :D

well just to clarified things ill add some differents from Boost Stylo and Metro/Tmo Specs

Boost/Sprint Stylo
---------------
1GB Ram
8mp Rear Camera

Tmo/Metro Stylo
-----------------------
2GB Ram
13mp Rear Camera

so not every Stylo have the same specs and performance and yes Tmo/Metro have better specs than Boost/Sprint.

Never had this problem on the double-ram Stylo version, or the last 3 Samsung models... smallest @ 4gb storage/1gb ram...And not totally sure, neither on LG Esteem(1/2 gb RAM, gingerbread).
And I do 100 tabs/chrome, 50/stock, plus a few on others.

Phones would slow to a crawl only.

So by the seat of my pants I'd guess it's a new LG thing or a Boost thing.

I'm having the same problem too. I got the 2GB ram one and whenever I open another app go back to the app I was using, it restarts itself... It's seriously annoying.

Everytime I play a game and then open another app to check messages/email/etc. or just turn the phone off for second and go back to the game, the game restarts and I lose everything I just did. I don't know how to fix it... :(

Mine's fresh new. It's not rooted or anything. I did download a lot of apps but that shouldn't have to happen because of that. I want to fix it... :(

If you did the 5.1.1 update through OTA you would need to wipe cache / dalvik. Update need to be sink n settle it may take day or so.
This issues are happening with a lot devices. Not only LG but Samsung etc.etc....

I didn't do any OTA updating. The phone came with the 5.1.1 android os when I bought it.
And I did plenty of cache-wiping with Avast Cleanup & Boost app.
This started to happen from yesterday. And this is my 14th day with LG G Stylo.
I may have to exchange or refund the phone maybe...
I really liked this phone until this happened...

Sorry I don't knw what else to recommend except factory reset... I have had mine for a month or so... N its running fine. If fac/reset doesn't work, yes you should get a new one.
I have a ? Is it a metro, tmo or boost?
Because metros phone are still selling out on L5.0.2 not 5.1.1
