hey everyone. i don't post much on here but if there's a way for anyone to help me out it would be much appreciated
well it looks like i'm no longer the owner of a working zmax ...

after trying to flash
AICP 5.1.1 for ZTE ZMAX to my zmax from my stock metropcs 4.4.4 rom with perm root and xposed framework + modules and butterkat kernel, some weird thing happened once I chose the option to reboot into recovery from twrp 2.8.6.0... after wiping and installing aicp, it rebooted into the twrp 2.7.1.0 and from there clicking on reboot to system showed the "No OS Installed" warning and from then on stayed stuck on the "powered by android " screen. the device will no longer boot into recovery from a fully powered off state... volume up + power yields no results... the device doesn't seem to boot into FTP mode either and only always stays stuck on the "powered by android" screen...

again thank-you to anybody who can help me somehow, but i think this is the end for my zmax..

Try reading here at this thread. Maybe post the problem to see if someone can help.

If you made a back up from stock ROM you would be OK if not you should try to get butternoob ROM then wipe cache, dalvik cache, and storage then flash the ROM this should work after you have done this make sure it boots then flash aicp that should work
I actually cant boot into recovery or ftm. volume up + power from a powered off state does nothing..
same with volume down + power :/
Thank you though

maybe its possible to have too many mods and I just bogged down the phone with too many processes or something..

Edit: okay so now after leaving the phone off since this problem occurred the phone no longer stays stuck on the "powered by android" screen it continues to a completely black screen with the red led light being lit and doesn't progress any further

What about holding the power button only, what happens then?
hey everyone thank you for your help i really appreciate it...

Mastercheif87: The device turns on and stays stuck at the "powered by android screen" and it will not progress any further after. and to power it off I have to hold the power button on that screen and quickly remove my finger from it when the screen goes black or else it reboots and gets stuck on the "powered by android" screen again.

n9ots: I just tried it about three times in a row now and the third time I just kept holding down volume down and now the screen is completely black with the red led on, i plugged it into my laptop and it made a usb response sound. i'm wondering if that's ftm mode.. going to try and install adb and see if i can get into recovery that way.

Butterkat was for kitkat stock and not for lollipop. That's where you went wrong, I haven't had to do this on this phone, but see if you can adb push recovery.img? I bricked my old lg once but I had fastboot to save my ass. All I could do is drop a potential hint? Sorry, in not useful for much else right now, Im careful with this phone unlike that asstastic lg.

I have a question hopefully you guys can help. My phone is able to boot to recovery but wont boot into the OS. It happened out of nowhere. I had cm12.1 installed and I have even tried to flash cm again after a full wipe and it just boots back into recovery. That's all it will boot into. Any help would be appreciated.
When you first boot into twrp recovery, does the log say anything about being unable to mount system?
