I'm pretty much settled on my upgrade being the G4 and I should be able to pick it up in a week.

One of the niggles though is the notification pull down. It's hideous. I like my notification pull down to be pretty discrete and minimalistic.

Is it themable and how configurable is what appears there? do I have to have sliders for brightness and volume?

Not sure this what you asking for, but each application notification can customized. if you want to receive a notification for that app or not.

Not sure if you can add a theme.

Nah, what I'm asking about is the notification pull down.

On my current handset, my notification pull down looks like the attached, it gives me exactly what I want (any notifications are front and centre) and it's a fairly inoffensive colour scheme.

On the G4 I messed with, I'm presented with something that looks akin to the phone equivalent of an 80's disco with garish neon toggles, sliders galore. It's hideous. I've since discovered you can remove pretty much most of toggles and sliders, but is there any way to change the colour scheme to something less offensive? It was a demo model, so a lot of the settings were blocked.

When I was researching I read somewhere that LG changed (enhanced or took away options) the notification shade from the stock/vanilla android UI. I can't find the article now, but it also discussed a few other changes.
