Show off your 360 with different bands and faces

Someone posted a Titan Black Sea Dweller Rolex some time ago that I just loved and I've used a LOT. Well I took that and added a few new twists to make it still look like a Rolex but with a good deal of added functionality.

This is for WatchMaker Pro only.

It will give you a weather forecast. It will give you a list of current conditions (the "Days Remain" is just a place holder that you can customize to whatever you want). Settings is right there for easy use and I also added Message. If you want the watch to function as-is you must also install Wear Messenger which is an awesome program and worth the $1-2 it costs. If you don't, it would be a simple matter to either disable it or set it to do something else. I'm really excited about this one because of just how functional it is with maintaining it's classic look. Please let me know if you enjoy it!

I have a Black 360 with the leather band. I have read of a bunch of bands cracking the back of the Watch.

What ones, outside of the Official Moto ones, will work and not crack the backing? what do I need o look for in a band when I am buying one?

THANKS

The short answer is none. The problem isn't with the bands per se, but the watch itself.

This explains the problem pretty well.

I have the stock leather band and there is a tiny crack at one side. I'm not that worried about it as it hasn't seem to have changed much in the last several months. I still might try to get a warranty replacement before my warranty is up.

Any band seems capable of cracking the back, although it's only happened severely in the cases of tight third part metal bands. And, the minor cracking doesn't seem to be affecting the performance of the watch (which I'm very happy with, BTW).

The pocket where the band sits is recessed and very snug for most 22mm bands. The tighter the band, the more prone to cracking, I'd say, but without trying it in an actual 360, there's not an easy way to tell. I recall seeing some attempts at adapters but they looked too kludgy for my tastes.

I guess you will have to re-band at your own risk.

so going by that I gues I might be safe with another band as I wear the watch like he does.. the issue I have is when it is warm, the watch sticks to my wrist more so I wear it looser, but then when I am cooler it is too loose.. I think a metal band my be a good resolution to that issue.

I hear you. I have the same issue. On my dressier watches i usually wear a silver bracelet band (with the exception of an ultra thin Gucci ;) ). I would like to switch to a metal band, but the Pebble band, which everyone seems happy with, looks cheap-ish to me. I do like the look of the Motorola OEM bracelets ... and I think I'm going to order the silver. :D

I bought an $11 Jingmei steel band off ebay similar to this.
At the same time that I swapped out my band, I took the opportunity to trim the curved back edge straight (except left the rounded corners) in order to relieve the stress similar to this video:
... except instead of using a Dremmel tool I just used toenail clippers, then smoothed it a little with sandpaper.
It added about 10 minutes to the band replacement, which took an hour total.

Here's a quick video (let me know if link doesn't work)

Like most people, my leather watchband had already shown the curved imprint on the watchband where it pressed on the back, even though I wore it normally (not too close to the wrist). So it made sense to me to modify it rather than rely on wrist position only and worry about the back for the next two years or so (maybe I'll upgrade to the moto 360 2017 when it comes out!)

First I want to say hello to everyone as this is my first post. I use an iPhone 6 Plus as my daily driver, and decided to purchase a Moto 360 as my new smart watch. I wanted something that could work with my 6+ and my LG tablet, not to mention if I decide to make the move back to an Android phone then I've got a watch that will carry over. My last smart watch was a Gear 2 Neo paired with a Samsung Note 3.

Moving on, I've got a silver 360 and just bought a brown leather band for it today. The band is actually a 20 mm band. I looked at a few 22 mm ones and they just seemed to wide, and didn't want to clear the cutout on the back side of the watch. I could've probably manipulated them into the "band space" but my concern is the stress could cause the band and watch to not sit properly and be uncomfortable, or worse cause the back cover or pin holes to crack. With all that said here are a few pics. Also, the band came from WalMart and was $12.00

I have a first Gen and don't have any problem finding plenty of great watchmaker-compatible watchfaces for my watch on facerepo.com

I don't think there are many differences between the two watches that would affect watchfaces, other than maybe the way ambient might be handled (not sure about that.. it will be irrelevant for any first gen... ambient mode better be off).

Is the a specific 2nd gen watchface you are looking at?

Geez it's been a while since I made a new face. I'm so happy with my Digital Dials one I had no reason to change.

But... my most recent toy is LIFX light bulbs which are freaking awesome. And of course you can control them from your watch, so I needed to retool for four buttons and this is what I came up with.

Of course if you don't have LIFX bulbs just make the fourth button whatever you want it to be.
