Just placed my pre order!!

It's interesting that Verizon told me a pre-order would deliver to me on the 21st yet Sprint & AT&T seems to be shipping immediately with customers having their phones in hand as early as today. I've only been with Verizon a little over a year so not a lot of historywith them. Is this typical of them being behind the curve on getting new phones to customers?

YEP. Don't expect your preorder to arrive until the day of release... the day before if you're lucky.

I was at Verizon today to get a touchy-feely of the Note 5 and of course they didn't have it out and won't until release day next week. The drive back home gave the Little Chief on my left shoulder time to say:

What are you thinking? You're about to plunk down $800 for the privilege of taking notes on the screen with the phone off; syncing your files a little easier; and taking scrolling screenshots. You won't even use the livestream. You're going to lose tons of storage and a removable battery, as well as retire a perfectly good Note 4 DE. So tell me again, hot shot, why taking notes with the phone off is worth all that.

And you know what? I'm listening. I walked into my house convinced to skip the Note 5. Maybe the Note 6 will fix things (I doubt it), but as prepared as I was to get this phone, I think I may just let this one go.

I'm not trying to be a downer to you good folks who are undoubtedly going to love this phone - just talking and writing through my thought process here :)

Verizon customer service just told me that Samsung has different arrangements with each of the different carriers and this is just the arrangement they have with Verizon, that customers won't get the new phones until the 21st. I told her that's unfortunate that they cut better deals(at least in terms of when customers can get the phones) with Sprint & AT&T and she then told me it's not that it's a better deal just different. :-l

That's interesting because I too went into a Verizon store(Corp) and was told they would have display models out today. I'm heading there after work to hopefully check them out.

Mine showed up about 40 minutes ago. I had the note 1, 2 & 3 before, skipped the 4 for the nexus 6. I liked the nexus 6, but the overall dimensions were just a bit too big for me.

I'm a bit bummed the Note 5 doesn't have removable battery and SD storage, but I went 9 months with the nexus 6 without it, and I realized I didn't miss the removable battery and SD as much as I thought I would.

For me anyway, it's fantastic to be back in the Note family again. :) The phone just feels right, ya know? lol...
I'm setting everything up right now, but glad to be back. The back is a fingerprint magnet though.

I have heard that about them before,.. but I am surprised that Sprint is ahead of the game this time!!

I placed a pre-order for a 32BG White Note and cancelled it. I just couldn't accept all the compromises. I have been waiting for the phone to be released for so long and anticipating it to come out in Gold and at minimum 64GB. Verizon currently isn't even offering the WHITE in 64GB, only the black. If they don't offer more color options in the 64GB variant, I will have to pass on the Note 5. I do, however, find it very hard to believe that they wouldn't release additional colors in the U.S. considering everyone holding the Note at the launch was holding a GOLD or SILVER Note 5. Not to mention, they did the same thing with the S6, made only Black and White available for pre-order and the gold came alonf later.
