Hi guys, as is my want, Ive been flashing a few Lollipop roms of late and can highly reccomend this one.
It's called DOKDO, and is a 5.1.1. Ive been running it for a few days now and have had no problems whatsoever. Having said that, there have been a few other lollipop roms that Ive tried that have been good too, but after a couple of weeks, cracks have begun to show, slow response times, a few FC's etc, so this one may not be perfect either, but it's definitely worth a try, if you're that way inclined!
Download the rom, and the Gapps here:-

Havnt tried AICP, in fact, Ive never heeard of it, but there's so many roms out there! Ive moved from DOKDO recently and have gone back to KK, 4.4.4 Sensation rom. DOKDO was starting to lag and do what all other 5.1.1 roms have done. I'm convinced that the S3 just isn't man enough to properly run Lollipop!
But I might give AICP a go sometime soon!

I don't blame you one bit. I haven't tried any AOSP lollipop roms. I did run some AOSP KitKat roms last year and after the bugs kept costing me business (I use my phone for work) I'll never try another AOSP rom on this phone. It cost me too much. I need 100% stability and reliability.

Wicked X, Wicked S5 experience, and Tribute are all excellent stable roms.

I'm a heavy user that relies on my phone for work, so i'm constantly on the search for the perfect rom. i've tried almost every rom i've come across within the last week. Most of the download links i've found are dead or missing due to no one really working on the S3 anymore unless it's a lollipop rom, so that's been pretty annoying

here are some roms i've tried recently, with results:

Latest CM11 official nightly - worked fine. random reboots while navigating, some google play services errors. not very snappy. Bluetooth randomly disconnects and won't reconnect until reboot. Pocketcasts app randomly force closes

Liquidsmooth - works great, better than CM11. smoother, snappier, better stock apps. Snapchat just will not open whatsoever though. A couple other minor cosmetic things annoyed me. i.e., no way to change status bar tiles, no quick pulldown. same issue with bluetooth and pocketcasts though

AOKP - will not install. keep getting error

Bliss - can't install. i think the download keeps getting interrupted, every time i download it it's a different size

Nameless - error while installing

Wicked X - okay rom. but horribly ugly. uninstalled immediately, didn't really test much (i know there are themes, but i prefer debloated, slim roms)

AICP 10 - Great rom. probably one of the best. here are my gripes
- LOOONG boot time
- constantly freezing/lagging requiring you to always close all your open windows/processes/apps. will happen when someone is trying to call you, making it so you can't answer at all
- wiping the cache? expect to wait about 45 minutes at boot at the "Android is Upgrading" screen
- random reboots. usually while navigating
- terrible battery life

Conquest Singularity - the single best rom i've ever used on this phone. used religiously for about a year. only switched when looking for lollipop rom. i did sometimes find it sluggish, and i had random force closes, but nothing serious. I will honestly probably just go back to this

Can anyone recommend to me another rom that i haven't tried? i would have defintely stayed with Liquidsmooth if it weren't for the bluetooth and snapchat issues. i would also love to have working download links for Bliss and AOKP if anyone has them. I am also hesitant to try Tribute after looking at the screenshots. Maybe i'll give it a go and find a decent theme

Did you get round to trying the Sensation ROM? I'm on that atm, and , although it isn't perfect (what is?) I find it's pretty solid.
I'm toying with the idea of going back to maybe a 4.1 rom, to see if it gives me a faster experience. My theory being that it will need less resources to run it, and therefore be more responsive......whaddya think?

KitKat marked the reduction of ram requirement. Earlier than that, are ram hogs. Horribly inefficient and riddled with security flaws. Just my .02

pretty cool, i'll give that one a shot

never tried Sensation, i'll look into that one too.

i'm also thinking that the Nameless and AOKP roms i tried were bad downloads. couldn't find any other mirrors though

i'm currently using SlimKat with great results. i love everything about it so far. it surprised me by having a higher default resolution, which makes icons and text all appear smaller, but i kind of dig it. i currently have 0 issues with it right now

also my Pocketcasts issue i mentioned previously is almost certainly an issue between the app and the bluetooth share system app not cooperating properly. possibly a bug with PC. it happened to me on day 1 of SlimKat with a full wipe

downloading Exodus now. Euphoria 5.1 appears to only be for the i9300 version of the s3. there is a 5.0 version though. i'm just going to give Exodus a shot though

Slimkat 4.4.4 is a very nice rom, but i've encountered some really annoying issues lately. reboots, apps saying "incompatible" when downloading from the play store, etc. i'm starting to think there just isn't a good 4.4.4 rom out there anymore. so i'm going to start giving the other 5.x roms a shot. the only one i've tried is AICP, and while it is awesome, it became very laggy and unresponsive after a week or 2. we'll see how Exodus goes!

Despite my misgivings about lollipop and the S3, Ive given another ROM a try, and, after running it for a few days, I have to say, it's really, really impressive! It's called Euphoria, and is available for download here:-

https://basketbuild.com/uploads/devs/Alectradar/Euphoria OS/Euphoria-OS-1.1-UNOFFICIAL-i9300-20150828.zip

You'll need Gapps. Any Lollipop version should do.
Enjoy!......:)

Update:- Still on Euphoria rom, but......it's started to reboot itself at random intervals, maybe twice a day....at very inconvenient times too, like during a call! Not to worry, my contract is up in November, and I'm definitely not going to get another Samsung phone! :p:)
