Help MS Office Apps

I cannot connect to a server for either the Word App or the MS Office App, with my Galaxy Note 2 but I'm sure it's the same for all Android. I'm using 4.4.2. It says to check proxy server. Where and how?

Also, I cannot see Word and Excel files that are on my SD card when I hit open. I can only see files I've opened in the file manager when Word is open.

One other thing, I went to settings accounts and there is an account for Office, in red with the Office logo but there doesn't seem to be anything there, the sync button is grayed out and it doesn't seem to have an email account associated with it. However, I do have on that page another account that says Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and that is synced to a live.com account, which is a Microsoft account. Could that be the problem, that I have that account and maybe I should take it off. I remember just setting it up as a regular email account and it's not with the other email accounts.

I installed the MS Office apps when I was using a Galxy S4 on 5.0.1 (now back to using a Desire HD as I broke the screen on the S4 for a second time - aaarrrrggghhhhhhhh ...) and had the 'contact erver' error on at least one of them when I first used the app. This happened all the time until an update for it when it worked fine. Go figure .....

Can't test now as the Deisre HD doesn't have enough memory to load them but they worked fine as far as viewing/simple editing was concerned.

Dave, Did you get an office 360 One Drive account because that is the only way you can save changes, I think.

I have an 'outlook' account anyway as I have an outlook email address (though just use it for stuff like this rather than as my main account). TBH I can't remember whether I actually did some editing I needed to save so not 100% sure of the process ..... sorry ....
