Battery Charging time

I believe the charging rate slows down when it reaches a certain %.&/or slows down when a certain temperature is reached.
I would take that 2.5 hrs w/a grain of salt,it shouldn't take anywhere near that long to get a full charge when using the stock OEM Charger & USB Cable.
If it does, something is wrong w/the charger, cable,or phone.
All three are covered by the mfgs warranty. If the slow charging does turn out to be more than your imagination,a call to Samsung's Customer Care department,or,place of purchase,is in order.

So far I haven't even tried the charger that came with the phone. I use the various chargers I have in my office and at home from S4 and earlier phones. I'm even using an old Blackberry charger plugged into a Powerbot QI wireless charger on my desk. I find the Note 5 charges significantly faster than any other phone I've had, including in the car, running Waze, screen on, still on an old, less than 2 Amp charger.

One of these days I'll plug in the Quick Charger that came with the phone and see how that does...

I also find that it charges quicker on all my old USB chargers, compared to other phones I own/owned, I've also not tried the OEM fast charger. I used the Sammy wireless one and it gave me about a 30% charge in about 45 min or less.

The battery life seems to last me a long time thou, compared to other phones, I pulled mine off the charger on Tuesday at about 9am, it's Friday now, 11:50am and I'm down to 16%, so that's over 74 hours run time w/o a charge, during which I got about 100 texts, 2+ hours of Pandora, took about 20+ pics, played a few vids and games, used a bunch of apps, so I'm a happy camper so far.

Wow that seems pretty impressive. How much time would you estimate you had the screen on during that time and how dim do you have your screen. I can onlyonly manage about a days worth of use

Open screen time, probably about 90 min in total, since I listen to Pandora with the display off, unless I change stations. I have the Brighness set to Auto, so it's always nice and bright. I'm set on 1 minute Screen timeout w/o activity, Screen mode is Adaptive display, I also set the battery Power Saving Mode to 15%.

I took my phone off the charger last night (9/29) , 15 hours, 12 min standby now, this morning I checked emails, checked the weather and it's at 84% now, shows that I have about 3 days left with an ETA of battery to zero on 10/4.

One comment about getting an accurate battery life reading, while the battery is new, I highly suggest running it down to 1% before charging, at least once or twice.

Another thing on this topic, for those traveling and not having a charger available, I just picked up a 10,000 mAh portable power bank from Amazon, for $28 shipped. It's a nice quality piece, this one is called AmazonBasics and allows you to charge two things at once!

When you say you set the battery saving mode was set to 15% what do you mean?I have been trying to figure out if I can set my saving mode to automatically turn on at a certain percentage with no luck I was even looking into stuff like Tasker.Duh I just checked again and like the fool that I am I never actually held down the icon to enter the full menu. Thanks for even mentioning it.
