Hi guys, here I am again, needing help like usual :)

So here's the problem and what I was doing immediately before:

I was playing a location based MMO (in the middle of performing an action) when my battery died. THe only reason I mention it is because I wonder if there isnt something that happened with the power loss + being in the middle of an action.

When I restored juice to my phone Ive got no data connection. The switch is on, but it says disconnected.

I have: checked with Boost via the website to see if they are having technical difficulties
updated all the carrier stuff (PRL etc) from wifi (which still works/phone works as well)
restored from a known working backup (custom rom, but was working up until this issue started)
restored to stock
was going to try to see if a RUU would fix it but the only one I could find was for a later HBoot and it says the device isnt connected even though the PC can see it

If RUU is the answer, then there are still hurdles. rbheromax had the only working RUU for my firmware version and im getting a 404 error when I follow the link from xda to his site. Which is also where the recovery Im going to need is at I think. I havent kept good backups of ALL the files I need after all ;) Thanks in advance guys

Edit: Mr. heromax has the site back up and running, but the RUU he's got is for 1.47.652.x and Im showing 1.46.40 in the HBOOT menu. RUU still wont see my device, but I know its the same version I used before. Ill get back to you guys if I figure anything out

Edit2: Apparently if I get on the phone with Boost updating the PRL works. Silly. Not Amused. :) RUU worked after that (figured it was time for a "fresh install") . Remeber to relock the bootloader!

Yeah, well the next day I dropped it and now something inside is loose and the touchscreen works horribly, amongst other problems. Switch to a different device. Its okay, I was getting real fed up with this device anyway. I loved my previous HTC and bought this one solely on the strength of their previous offering, but damn this one was a let down. It wasnt the worst phone Ive ever had, but I had high expectations I guess. Im still keeping this one for a guinea pig though.

I took it apart and found a loose connection and the touchscreen seems to be working correctly again, but I've gotten inexplicable error 16 problems twice in 2 days. The first time I had to call customer service to fix it , and Im still working on finding a fix myself the second time. I think I will have to throw in the towel and have them fix it again. Ill stop back in when I can make this device ballroom dance :)

I think something is borking the IMEI . I cant imagine what, but thats my gut feeling on the matter. Ive reverted to stock for now and gotten set up on a different carrier so its no biggie. There were absolutely no issues for over 6 months (maybe even closer to a year) before I dropped it.

BTW, When you unlock the bootloader dont beleive the "may" portion of the "may void your warranty" . I clearly remember reading that it was a possibility not a surety. When I inquired about it with HTC though, they felt it was voided period. No questions asked. Once they found out i had unlocked -warranty void. I was very dissapointed by that because it was clearly a hardware issue, not due to the firmware. I guess I just think that if they are going to react that way, their language should be different. It would say something like "Unlocking your bootloader WILL void your warranty" not "may". Am I just splitting hairs here? I hope not.

My dad tried telling me that if you unlock the boot loader that HTC can't void your warranty when he worked for AT&T, but I dunno. I think if you reinstall the stock version of Android, it relocks the boot loader, but I'm not sure.

The bootloader can be relocated as easily (easier actually) than unlocking, I just didn't think they were going to doo doo on me about it. And they really should have to do more than m kw my bootloader is unlocked to void the warranty, but that's the risk you take. It's possible I could have argued for my warranty a little harder and won (I'm not so sure but it is possible) but I was pretty mad a out how they were handling it. It's not like I wasn't prepared for the warranty to be voided, I just think that the particular rep I spoke to didn't want to hassle with a tech knoob
