MotoX Pure Edition Arrived to Today - Broken...

My device arrived in pristine physical condition...at least to the naked eye. During my initial setup, the keyboard started to malfunction, clicking a single little sent multiple presses. I restored to factory defaults and it happened again. After 9 different people at Motorola, no kidding, I finally found someone to help me process an RMA. Looks like 2 and 1/2 weeks until I see a replacement. At first, they wanted to charge me $25, non refundable to hang onto the device until the new one arrived.

The phone is usable...I found by trial and error that when it starts to glitch, I shutdown the screen and when I bring it back online, it is fine for a while. Texting is a real pain. Oh well.

i couldnt even test mine out to see if the keyboard worked..When i opened my box up i noticed the bottom speaker accent was loose and about to fall off. I RMA the phone and sent it the same day i got it..i asked for a credit so i can order a new phone..well i find out that they processed a full refund..so instead of waiting for a quick credit i had to wait for a refund which took 5 days..anyways not hearing about the keyboard im not sure if i want to order this phone again..might just wait for the nexus 5x or nexus 6

I have decided that if my Moto X Pure comes in broken from the factory, I'll also wait for one of the new Nexi. Motorola had the chance of a lifetime to revolutionize the industry with a powerful, unlocked Android device... and it seems more and more that shoddy production practices are ruining their opportunity for greatness. I realize that we're only hearing about the few bad ones here among an untold quantity of phones sold: but a lot of people don't know we're even here. I would be curious to find out the actual percentage of bad phones to the total of all phones sold. Seems more and more like these broken phones are the rule, not the exception.

My device has none of the apparent issues that others have reported. Solid device so far.
The exfat formatted 200gb card also works great in the Pure.
You replacing the note 4? I'm interested to hear how you think they compare. I entertained picking up an x pure just because it's so cheap but not sure the screen and power wouldn't be a step back.

The display is great on the Pure. Not as deep blacks, but frankly it is not noticed after a short use. One big point for the Pure is with VR content, since zoomed up the Note 4 pentile is a screen door dot mess. Pure blows it away for VR.

The battery life is still up in the air, but seems less than the Note 4. I need another week to confirm. The device is faster than my Note 4.
