Root Help

Deleteing the LGOTA.apk has no effevt. Updates are tied in to google services. If you could just delrte it and keep your other google apps it would be grwat....but you cant do that. They are all interdependent upon each other now. Two options. One is to debloat by deleting all google apps or just continue to deal with this updates mess and hope forbthe best. I like option number one. Google offers me nothing useful enough to keep putting up with these useless updates. Im running fine on zv5 deblosted and detached from the google teet and enjoying it very much. While looking on in amazement at the issues people are having all over a stagefright vulnerability that can easily be remedied by turning off auto download of message attachments. Hey if people want to go through all that...enjoy lol :)

No there is more than just rerooting here. People having bootloop issues after updating to zv6,lte issues, things are not going smoothly for people applying the update or the zv6 rom among other things. Yes. That I do look on in amazement.

Well 99.99% of the issues are user error. People trying to run an update on a deoxed rom, or after they deleted system files. Of course there will be issues. Its not rocket science. For the vast majority the update is fine people dont notice a thing.

@plpr You can stop the nag notification by going into phone main settings>apps>all tab>, scroll to Google Play Services and unchecked notifications. Nag gone. Then go to /cache in a file manager and delete the update.
Don't apply the update if your on a deodexed ROM. Major system issues. Please be aware that after the update there could be data connectivity issues, plus possible bootloops.
I have a fix for the bootloop, but haven't tried it on the Volt. Its in the LG LS660 subforum. (@Curtis1973 Need testers).

Oh and I intend on continuing the rom for tribute hash. Have not forgot you guys at all. I do however need to get through this weekend first before doing much else in it. My area in Greenville South Carolina will be hit by the brunt of tropical rain streaming off of Atlantic hurricane. We are expecting 15-20 inches of rain between tonight and early am Monday morning. The area will be bad to say the least.

Curtis, i do wanna ask how is it running for you without any google services though? Ive thought about trying that. Its got to be a little quicker, its just i would think it would be a painus in the anus to download apps and stuff. I know you can sideload stuff but you got to find the app then download it. Google play store just makes it so much easier.

@timmyh318,The rom runs very well without google apps. You can side load apps from sdcard. Or you can install a trusted third party app store. I have been running my android devices this way since google started to tie all gapps to play services. You wont miss anything really but it does take time to adjust to a new way of finding what you want apps wise. Here are a few screens of my current setup running xperia launcher with apps and widgets plus g2 tweaksbox.
