Root Android Marshmallow Development Discussion

Sorry, I'm relatively new to this stuff. I only started meddling with it a year ago and I know enough to get me by, but I don't know what you guys are talking about when you say stuff like Rc5, lol. I have a ZTE Awe and when I flashed Lollipop there were little things like no recent apps tab, camera was glitchy, and there were a few other things. I also didn't like that I could not move apps to sd. The Awe has very little storage on it so if you cannot move to sd, you pretty much can only have like 5 apps lol. Somebody mentioned that xposed fixes that and you can then move apps over but I don't even know what xposed is.
I'm not sure of that phone. Never heard of it so I can't help you there. RC means release candidate. Like it's good enough to let the public use but is still being being worked on. However RC5 of CM12.1 for this phone was the last version released by the Dev.

I used this rom, made for my phone. It had a few bugs. I think I'm confused about where the roms really come from as far as who made it. Like, Phenomx4 posted this. Did he tweak Cyanogen's version to make it specific to the ZTE Awe? Can I use a rom direct from the Cyanogen website and have it work on my phone or would that brick it? Maybe it works correctly on other phones and is only buggy with mine.

http://download.cyanogenmod.org/
This is the official Cyanogen website, right?

And oh, did not know that. Guess that means there is no stable version for my phone then huh
The way making roms is there is official and unofficial. Official would be made by the group themselves. Such as CyanogenMod or BrokenOS. Unofficial is when someone makes it themself without that group. Such as me making a build of CyanogenMod. It would be unofficial. And it's made by compiling over 30 gigabytes of code using Linux. The source code that is. So whoever post unofficial ROMs, usually made it themself.

So then that Dirty Unicorn version of Lollipop is unofficial then, made by Phenomx4 to allow specifically my phone to use it then. Okay, that makes sense. Only certain phones have stable versions of the rom. Mine does not.

You should move on and find new love. You will never look back.

I thought about it but when I look at other phones, none have the exact features that made me love this phone. Like I was looking at an HTC but it did not have an option for an SD card and then I was looking at the LG Tribute but it had no notification light or front facing camera. That sucks. But I don't wanna fill up this thread about phones, the original topic was supposed to be discussing the new M but I kinda came in and ruined that lol. I won't go off topic anymore haha.

a good thing to do in the future is ...
do not consider ZTE....
not because of where they're made or if they use child labor....
it's the firmware ....
the DEV's for their firmware have purposely installed countermeasures to thwart flashing custom ROM's ...
with the ZMAX it was tricky....'
but, with future phones....you will be able to root them...but, after flashing a custom ROM....the phones refuse to boot and give you messages about "unofficial software" (or somthing to that fact)....
and you end up with a purposely made brick ....
ZTE is more and more leaning towards the idealism of communism ...
in the fact that they would rather you just conform and not express any type of freedoms...or personal thoughts...
i'm just repeating hat i've read so....
as some here that have read my poop know i can sound or be wayy off to the side in my thinking....

Again. Please keep it on topic. This is for discussion regarding the development of Marshmallow for the ZMAX. Although I do completely agree with you and my next phone will be an iPhone due to the poor optimizations of Android. However, the screen on my ZMAX is slowly dying (Dead pixels) and the next Android I get in mean time, will be a phone with a large development base and does not have lousy limitations implemented by the Manufacturer.

I didn't mean to get this thread all off topic lol, I was just saying that there should be a finalized version of Lollipop before they started working on M but I realize now that they have. Just, not for my phone, lol
