I can't recall the last HTC smartphone that had a fingerprint sensor- has there been one? I guess the HTC One Max and the HTC One M9+ may have had them but this is the first flagship of sorts by HTC to have one. Could be because of the Android Marshmallow inclusion and HTC's decision to more quickly support features and updates.

Does this make you excited at all for the A9 or make you want the A9 more than the M9?

A9 more than M9, no. Though a fingerprint sensor that works well would definitely be a useful thing to have, the M9's speakers would swing that one for me over the fingerprint sensor (got used to the speakers on my M7, and my daughter's M9 is better in that respect).

And yeah, the M9+ had one, though I expect this is a better implementation (for one thing, Marshmallow prohibits a certain security error HTC made with their earlier ones). I think that we can pretty much assume this will be a standard feature from now on.
