Will you buy the Huawei Nexus 6P?

Sorry...

I would never buy anything from Huawei...

leave them to boost mobile, and Walmart's straight talk...

I am very sad that Google went with such a low end company...
I would've loved to have seen Samsung take a crack at a Nexus again...
Have you tried any of Huawei's newer phones like the P8 Lite? The software isn't anything to write home about, but the hardware is quite good.

I'm really excited about Huawei hardware (particularly their lightning-fact fingerprint scanner) combined with Google software. It should be pretty awesome.

I'd really like to come back to Nexus but the AMOLED screen is really giving me second thoughts. I was really hoping they'd go back to LCD.

I had to return my Nexus 6 after only a short week because of burn in. I hear they're using Samsung's latest AMOLED. panel this time around but I still have my doubts.

Up until now I think Huawei might have only been selling their budget phones in the US. With a Huawei Nexus that's a bit different, and definitely not cheapo.

Was checking availability on the Google Store tonight and it shows the Frost 6P as sold out, both the 64 and 128GB versions. The Aluminum and Graphite versions all show they will be shipped in 3-4 weeks, except the 128GB Graphite, which is 4-5 weeks.

Never expected that the Frost would be the first of the colors to sell out.

Thinking about it... How do you all do withe the bigger size phone? I though the N5 was big enough.

This is a concern I have, even if a mild one. I actually felt the Nexus 5 was bigger than I wanted. OTOH, I'm old enough that I really like the idea of the 5.7" screen. I'm sure it will be an adjustment but expect I'll adapt quickly enough.

I have been using the Nexus 6 for almost a year now. Got used to the size very quickly. Can you say screen? Does everything a smaller phone does but looks awesome. Had a Note 3 so was ready for the size I guess. I have no idea what size pockets people have but I am a "normal" sized human and the Nexus 6 fits in all my pants pockets and shirt pockets!!!

Probably. I will wait a few months after the release to make sure any bugs are worked out. Also, I want to wait on reports of battery life.

The other option is to buy last years N6 for $349. It will get the Marshmallow update and should give at least one year of service. Roughly half price from it's release date. That's if the N6P has problems.

Anyone else concerned about burn-in with the 6P?

I've been looking forward to getting a 6P, but I'm delaying my order now because potential burn-in. This reviewer experienced image retention after just one week of use, and lots of people on forums have said that they've had burn-in with their AMOLED Nexus 6s. It's really unfortunate.

I know there are ways to minimize the impact, such as low screen brightness, and ways to try and fix it, such as this app, but it's still a problem I'd really rather not have to be concerned about when buying such a high-quality phone in 2015.

It looks awesome, I think I'll reverse my previous position that I would never buy a Huawei nexus.

I still think it's unlikely that I will buy this one, not because of the quality, but because I've only had my 6 for a few months, so I'm almost 2 years off from justifying a new phone.

Also, if you're on T-Mobile like I am, you should make sure you are not in an area that relies on Band 12...as this phone does not support the frequency. Real sad to see Google turn their backs on T-Mobile, who has arguably been their best Nexus partner among the carriers.

This is a reality with any amoled screen. I'm coming from the nexus 6, and I don't notice any burn- in unless I specifically set the phone up in a way to test for it. It bothers some, but knowing I don't see it unless I jump through hoops to look for it, I'm not worried.

The good news is Google has the best warranty support in the game. If theres a problem, theyll provide a one day shipping replacement - free of charge.
