I saw the radio specs on the Play Store page, but I don't know what VZW uses. Will the 6P work with Verizon?

Network specs for the 6P:
  • GSM/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900MHz
  • UMTS/WCDMA: B1/2/4/5/8
  • CDMA: BC0/1/10
  • LTE (FDD): B2/3/4/5/7/12/13/17/25/26/29/30
  • LTE (TDD): B41
  • CA DL: B2-B2, B2-B4, B2-B5, B2-B12, B2-B13, B2-B17, B2-B29, B4-B4, B4-B5, B4-B13, B4-B17, B4-B29, B41-B41
  • Phone is carrier-unlocked with wide-range band support for service providers worldwide. Check with your service provider for more information.

When I bought my Nexus 6 I did not have a VZW account and the phone from Google would not activate with VZW. There was a IMEI number beginning with 35 and I needed a IMEI number that began with 99. Had to buy a VZW model. If you already have a VZW account then it seems like the phone will activate and work but it will be listed as a "non supported" device online.
I wonder if the 6P will be the same with VZW? I have a VZW account now so it won't matter that much I guess/hope.

NOTE: I ordered a sim and popped it in but it did not work for me at least!

Correct. I believe the Sim must be activated in a supported device first. My play store 6 works just fine using the Sim from my turbo

I am still on the Samsung Note 3 and the radio's of these Samsung phones are crap. Looking at jumping to the new Nexus 6P and wondered has anyone had a chance to test them and see how they work on Verizon?
You must be a patient person to deal with the radios on the n3 for this long lol. They got especially bad after lollipop. The note 2 was a reception monster and the note 4 has great as well, but the 3 was excruciating at times.

I've yet to hear of any reception issues with the 6p so far, but you can never be sure until someone on Verizon can confirm. I'm considering picking up the 6p as a backup so I hope there's no issues.

I never made it to lollipop...all the ROM Dev's jumped ship and moved on before lollipop came out. I'm still running Biggins last ROM and it really didn't matter which ROM I ran...they radio was crap on all of them :) I've got the ZeroLemon 10,000 mah battery on my Note 3 and it lasts forever. Nothing has really come out until now that made me even consider upgrading. I made Verizon give me a network extender and that solved most of my reception issues at my house...so I have lived with my Note 3.

My 64GB graphite 6P arrived yesterday. I spent the evening setting it up. While in my family room at home and the office, I don't get a super strong Verizon signal. However there would be a few times that my Nexus 6 would loose the data signal. That has not happened yet at home or work with the 6P. Also, it seems better by switching to 3G when 4G is just about gone. My N6 didn't do that as often. I am really happy with it so far. The fingerprint access is great, rather than entering my PIN each time.

I'm torn between going to Note 5 and keeping Note 3....or even switching to a Note 4 from eBay...just can't decide. The N3 works fine but if N5 has better radios it would be worth switching.

The issue I see with this site is: If I buy a 6P will Verizon issue me the proper SIM card or are they going to fight me about it? I don't want to order an $800 brick. I also don't want to rely on the nano cutter they mentioned from Amazon. That seems pretty shady to me.

What's the worst that could happen?
a) for some reason verizon won't work with you and you have to send the phone back. You'll get your money back.
b) for some even stranger reason you mess up the cut and fubar the sim card. then you order a new one and repeat.
There's not much risk here......

One reason I haven't upgraded yet is the Note 4 and 5 were basically (yawn) nothing new versus my Note 3. I couldn't see enough, if any difference in the those than what I already had. After having the Note 3 for over 2 years, and it being my second Samsung phone, I am not impressed. I definitely would not get another Note unless the specs were super super screaming and I really don't know if I would get another Samsung phone. I have put up with horrible radios in the last two I've had. I loved the size of the Note 3, but hated the radio and locked bootloader.

I held out for a while with the 3 then eventually switched to the 4 after having the LG g3 for a short time and hating it. The 4 is basically everything good about the 3 but just a little better. It's noticeably faster, better camera, slightly better battery, better and brighter screen, and way better radio reception.

I probably would've gone back to the 3 if the radios weren't so bad, but I'm extremely happy with the 4. Since I need a replaceable battery, the note 4 is still the best phone for my use that's available to this day.
