Minimally larger than the Turbo.
0.44 inches longer and 0.18 inches wider. That's a lot! The Turbo was only 0.15 inches longer and 0.09 inches wider than the Droid Maxx. (It is the same weight, but I always thought the Turbo was on the heavy side.)

The Droid Maxx 2 has a larger display than the Turbo 2 but is a smaller phone. I get it; that's the cost for "shatterproof display", but I'd have preferred a slightly smaller display with a Turbo-sized case size rather than grow it that much more.

I'm worried also about the plastic screen. That just seems backwards to me. I guess it's not too big a deal for me - I always put a screen protector on anyway - but I can't believe that won't get all scratched up.

Went by my local V corporate store yesterday afternoon and held both the Turbo2 and the Maxx2. Both very nice devices. Comparing side by side I could see just a slight difference in the T2 screen, but only when it was not at full brightness. With it turned up to full, to me, the difference was negligible.
The GUI did seem a bit more... plastic... than the Maxx, but I guess that is just the difference between KK and Lolipop.
I am still very happy with my Maxx and it still can go the better part of 2 days on a full charge.
But Damn, the Turbo 2 is a nice device...

I finally got out of the office and handled the Turbo 2 this afternoon.

Very nice.

With regards to size ... it is slightly larger than the Turbo. Maxx to Turbo is about the same increase as Turbo to Turbo 2.

Screen is veer sharp.

Screen is responsive to touch and to my mini-pointer (that I use all the time).

Added speakers.

5 microphones ... I am still pondering that.

Improved speakers (the speakers in the Turbo are at vest marginal).

Same rear camera as Turbo. This is a great camera that I have been using for project recording instead of carrying my Sony camera.

Front facing flash was a surprise.

Build quality was very nice.

Twice as many CPUs as the Turbo.

They did not (fortunately) have my mostly black ballistic nylon 64GB model in stock.

The Maxx 2 was there. It has a curved back like the Motos. This seems simply bad to me. Set it on a table and it will rock side-to-side as you tap it.

I want to see that screen, have heard grumblings about it not being as sharp as glass.
As long as the screen looks good I think that's me next phone.
I agree, the SD card slot is a nice bonus.

The display is as sharp as glass with great viewing angles. The only difference is that it is more saturated than some other screens, for example the Note 5, and a little less responsive to swipes than a glass screen. However, if you put a glass screen protector on top (as I have), it suddenly becomes more responsive to swipes and feels better!
