Help Unlocked Verizon Phone

I have a Verizon Motorola Mini and it is not under contract any longer. I wanted to get it unlocked so I can switch to a pre-paid plan with another carrier. Verizon told me that all their 4G LTE phones are already unlocked. Assuming this is true can I put either a CDMA or GSM sim in it or do I have to put a CDMA sim in it. Verizon told me I could put either one in it.

I am planning on getting a pre-paid plan from Pageplus. They told me if I do it online I would have to purchase a pre-paid plan and a sim card (theirs are GSM). They would ship the sim card to me and I could activate it on their website or over the phone. So, I don't want to purchase a GSM sim and find out only CDMA will work in my Verizon phone. As I mentioned previously, Verizon told me I could put either CMDA or GSM in it. I am just trying to confirm that. Pageplus wouldn't probably know if a GSM card will work in my phone or not, I don't think.

If this is the phone you have ...

http://www.motorola.com/us/smartphones/droid-mini/m-droid-mini.html

Then it should work okay. Page Plus is a Verizon reseller MVO so they may even use a CDMA network for voice and SMS. The sim would be for LTE data.

Just make sure Page Plus uses one of the bands:

US Network: LTE, CDMA/1xEVDO Rev. A (800/1900 MHz)
Global Network: EDGE/GSM (850/900/1800/1900), HSPA/UMTS( 850/900/1900/2100), HSDPA 42.2 Mbps (Category 20), HSUPA 5.76 Mbps LTE B13/4 700/1700
