What do you think about the phone?

Update:
Root Moto G3...finally. Installed a custom ROM and kernel. Also attached a Qi coil for wireless charging. This setup is great. I am having much fun. Reminds me of OG Nexus 5. Also 32 GB SD card.
aflick I sould be hearing from you at tax time.
I'm afraid I might disappoint you. The Nexus 6's are coming down in price over on Swappa, and I think that's probably the direction I'm gonna go in. I'm finally going to get me a Nexus! I've really loved my 1st Gen G, and really was looking forward to getting the 3rd Gen G, but not that the previous generation Nexus is coming down in price, I'm headed that way. And, to make things even better, it's still a Moto device! Despite the bad press that Moto has gotten recently with their Marshmallow upgrade plans, I'm still a Moto fanboy. [emoji4]

Oh, which ROM did you flash? I assume you're using TWRP as well? That's one of the things I really liked about my 1st gen G, is that it was so easy to flash a recovery and ROM's.

Edit: oh I've been running the nightlies for CM12.1 on my G.

I've had mine for 6 days and 5 nights now. I LOVE it.

I ordered cabernet with metallic champaign accent plate. The color of cabernet on the moto maker looks more of a maroon color, which I'd prefer, especially with the champaign plate, but I don't mind PURPLE.

As far as performance, I'm coming from a metropcs galaxy avant, and the moto g is buttery smooth and 720p is a nice step up for me. Beautiful details. Installed my launchers, main one being Nova Prime, and installed my dock4ddoid, and I'm happy as a clam flying through all the things I normally do in android. Hope everything stays this smooth with the marshmallow update coming.

The battery life is wonderful, especially compared to the galaxy avant. I can safely say that this is the first phone where I don't have to feel guilty for installing a few 'bells and whistles'. I treated myself to beautiful live parallax wallpaper by minima, a photo widget, and time and date widget. Still smooth and excellent battery life.

I'm going to miss wifi calling, however, the phone quality is nice clear and the speaker phone gets loud. Also gps navigation gets nice and loud too which is a plus for me. Though I noticed with the speakers up all the way it slightly distorts, but I'm just glad it can get that loud, especially compared to my last two phones' speaker volumes.
That said, headphone volume is a little soft, would like one or two notches higher.

Picture quality is nice for my standards, definitely best camera I've owned so far with 13mp and flash.

Can't say too much about the stock Android though. Haven't used it, and don't want to as from what I understand you can't get rid of Google search bar and the left Google now side screen (without disabling Google now) my opinion is Nova Prime should be the default android launcher;p
