Root Samsung Admire - Clockwork Recovery Mod - Install Instructions

You will need Odin (unzip it)

You will need the proper drivers for your phone to get Odin Download mode to work..

FIRST INSTALL THE DRIVERS!

Ok to get your phone into Download mode:
1. Power off the phone
2. Remove battery (make sure USB cable is unplugged)
3. After battery is removed put the battery back in.
4. Hold camera button down and plug usb cable back in.
5. Wait 4 seconds (yellow text should pop up) then hit Volume up
You should now be in Download Mode.

Now for ODIN.

Make sure you are in One pack install mode choose the OPS file included with the Odin zip.

Choose the Admire-cwm.zip as the one package installer file and hit start...

Your phone will reboot and you should be fine... go ahead and power it off now.

Now it's time to get to Clockwork Mod Recovery Mode that you have now just installed.

To get your phone in Recovery Mode you will need to hold the power button, the back button and the volume up button while the phone is powered off.. (Make sure your phone is unplugged and has good charge)

Your phone may cut off once while holding buttons... just keep holding and it will come back on... keep holding until clockwork recovery menu pops up.

Yea I posted it in some thread called help but figured it really needs a sticky... hopefully somebody will do it so people don't have to hunt it down so hard..

I've done "Everything" to the letter... almost 24hrs later my phone is supposedly still downloading the Recovery Image. I noticed it said this should only take five minutes to download & instal...

Either time ceases to actually exist, or I'm stuck in a Time loop, or something......
Is there something I've been doing "Wrong"?

Could Just Be an ID10T error on my part, so I turn to you for help...

That or I unplug it & throw a fit and then the phone!!!!

your still giving bad instructions. you hold volume down not up! and we already have a thread for clockwork recovery why do you post another one for?

I have the samsung admire, I can't get the android keyboard to work, and can't download free music and the instructions that come with the phone stick, they are so generic..... I need help.

can you tell me what happens and in what part of the procedure is it that it starts giving you problems? Thanks! Don't give up... because that's not an option

unzip the odin and ops zip file and get the the ops file that's in that zipped file,
and direct odin to it.

also rename the working Directory without punctuations
Example:
c:\odin\
that may be his trouble

And Never give up.

STEP BY STEP

- First I did Install the Drivers....
- I did turn off the phone
- Remove the battery.
- Put Battery back
- Press and Hold the camera bottom (volume down)
- Plug in the cable to computer, than to Phone.
- After few seconds push UP Volume (to get into Download Mode)
- Open ODIN
- Click OPS (Choose SCHR720.ops)
- Click PDA (Choose admire-cwm) do not care about Invalid Notification
- Click START and Wait.....

Nothing Happen, I try and try... etc

* Open Package = (unchecked)
* AutoReboot = (checked)
* Protect OPS = (checked)
* Reset Time (Sec) = 300

strange.. this sounds about right...

can you answer these:

1. does your phone reboot at all?
2. does odin give you a "PASS" sign after about 5-10 minutes of doing this?
3. does odin recognize a device is connected?
4. what firmware are you on? (2.3.4 or 2.3.6)
5. Also who is your carrier?

EDIT: i notice it says "3:42" in that picture.. maybe you are removing it to soon.. it takes about 4-6 minutes for me when i do this procedure sometimes :S

i see your problem.. this is for the original samsung admire schr720 NOT 820!

sadly, the samsung GALAXY admire never got CWM working

(as of last time i checked) if you want i can link you to the galaxy admire forums
