I tried to take a picture on my Galaxy Note 2 and instantly noticed that the camera setting was set to save to the device. I tried to change it back to the sdcard for it only to revert back to the device setting. I found this odd and then went to go look in my gallery for my picture settings only to realize that all my pix and videos were gone! I took the sdcard out and placed it into my desktop and no dcim folder to be found. The rest of the card data is completely intact, its only what would be the dcim folder that is missing/corrupted. Is there anyway to bring back this folder?

I suggest you reformat your card to FAT32 create a DCIM folder and move your photos back to it. You can then return the other data to the card and put it back in your phone. If you haven't got a card reader attached to your PC to format the card, put it back in your phone and get the phone to reformat it.
Samsungs tend to eat SD cards so make sure you have a back up of anything important
