Root Unbricking method with LG tool throwing error

What I was using:
(driver) http://androidmtk.com/download-lg-usb-drivers
(KDZ) http://devtester.ro/projects/lg-firmwares/country.php?country=United States
(LG tool and guide) http://androidforums.com/threads/unbrick-guide-to-turn-back-to-stock.946481/

For some reason the flashing stops at 49% and the LG flash tool offers to retry but I did this three times and the same result happened. I have it set on COM 20 but could it be an issue with my system? Im running windows 10 with the lame driver enforcement crap on. My phone is not bricked, I can still boot into it normally even after the failed flash attempt. I'm not using the device anymore so I just wanted to apply the 10g firmware by reverting to complete stock via kdz because I rooted and flashed twrp on the device.

EDIT: I'm now using the device again :)

Man I wish I can try 10g also but somehow my aboot / boot is messed up. When I try to go to download mode it launches fastboot instead. T.T
It's probably aboot, I'm assuming the main bootloader kicks in during a normal boot and are not one in the same. As to how you managed to get into fastboot by a messed up aboot is beyond my understanding lol.

I wonder what's breaking the OTA update TWRP or SU? SU is known to do that but what if I unrooted and applied the update? Or does anyone have a TWRP backup before even flashing SU in the first place (its possible to do).
Edit: Nvm about a TWRP backup, I forgot the possible changes that may be in the update (radio, bootloader, etc.)
