Hello you clever folk.
I have a standard, unrooted HTC One X+ that is out of warranty. It turned off due to a flat battery a couple of days ago, but any attempts to charge it or turn it on have failed. The battery has been somewhat temperamental for a while.
When a charger is connected, no LED lights show at all.
I have managed - a couple of times - to turn it on and it has begun to boot up, but turns off again within seconds. I suspect this was just using some remaining power?
I have tried holding down the power button, and volume buttons, in various ways and for various lengths of time but to no avail.
I have also tried connecting it to my computer (this has worked in the past when I've had a similar problem), but this hasn't worked either.
Fortunately, most of the content was backed up pretty recently, but there are still a few files left on the phone that I'd really like to retrieve if possible.
Judging by the symptoms, do any of you think it would be worth fitting a replacement battery? Or perhaps you have some other tips or advice on how to get the phone up and running again, or at least just to access the storage?
Many thanks!
