Official "I just ordered the Nexus 5X" Thread

Arrived today, 13:46, Marshmallow 6.0, "build number" MDA89E, no system updates available yet, Security patch level 1 Oct 2015.

Charger & cable (USB-c to USB-C) white, 3.0amp. Luckily I had ordered a couple of USB-A to USB-C cables so can charge out & about.

GPS location-finding really-really quicker (previous 'phone Google Nexus Prime, almost 4 years old) - presumably due to those nice Russians & GLONASS.

Happy so far.

Mine arrived on Friday. Was traveling until last night so started set up on it last night. Already hating the cable. Does it loosen over time? Struggling to get it off. Am going to keep it off charger for today to see how well it does. I can see the fingerprint reader is going to be a deal breaker feature, so easy to unlock and wake up the phone.

The cable does seem to loosen a bit and is now way more manageable than initially - the first snap is the toughest ;)

The fingerprint reader is my favourite feature by a country mile. I love the speed and convenience - it's like not having the phone locked at all (something I would never do). So far as I'm aware, I haven't turned the phone on accidentally in the 5 or so days I've had it.

I got a white phone as I often leave it on a black surface and then struggle to see if the light's poor :)

Now just need to remember to leave it face down ..

I've never had a Nexus phone. Previously I've had a Galaxy S2 and LG G2 both superb phones.

In both previous instances though I got REALLY, REALLY frustrated waiting for the damn software updates. So this time I've plumped for the 5X and have to say...... So far I'm really pleased! Love, love, love the novelty and speed of the fingerprint scanner (although still waiting for Google Pay in the UK!) the camera is great and LOVING the fact that I'm one of the first to get Marshmallow and will be one of the first to get future updates.

I really love this phone and am so glad I got it.

I just ordered my 5X on Saturday. I am pretty sure it won't be here until Mondayish next week, since I used the free shipping.

I will be leaving my Galaxy S4 FINALLY. I couldn't be more happy leaving that phone. I cannot upgrade anymore being a Verizon user since 2002. I only pay about 23 bucks a month for unlimited data. So we will see how well I can cut my SIM card into a Nano Sim or I will be using my mother's S6Edge to activate another nano sim later down the road.

I have been looking for a new phone, this being my first time paying full price for a phone, for a year or so and nothing caught my eye that would work for Verizon. I purchased the 16GB white phone, since I didn't want to spend more that 500 USD. Hell, I didn't want to spend more than 300 USD but I had to up my budget for the specs I wanted.

popped for the black friday $299 price. No tax, free ship.

Now to get a nano SIM and case ordered

Hm, no case thread...trying to find a case like a Seidio Dilex...
Rubber inner, hard outer....

The cases on the Google Store are half off today. The Speck Candyshell case fits what you are wanting and, after the discount, is only $17.50 from Google. Just to be clear, the price shows normal until after it is added to your cart, once in the cart you will see the 50% off.

Received my Nexus 5x 32GB in the "Ice" colour from Google via FedEx during the Holiday Weekend (11/27/15)! I am using my phone on the Project Fi service. I upgraded from a Nexus 5, using Tracfone (month-to-month) service. It hasn't been super long, but so far I'm pretty satisfied with the phone and service! Really diggin' the camera especially :) Also I'm in love with the "Ice" colour! I ordered the matching case from the Google Store during the Black Friday deals!

Ordered my N5X on Tuesday, got it today (Friday) with the Speck case and nexus protect. Went to verizon and they gave me a sim no issues, no hassle.

Backstory: I was coming from a GNex for the past 4 years (the usb melted over the weekend - weird! - going to repair it and keep for backup). I activated an old 3G LG Ally temporarily (that may have caused the issues I'm about to list). My mobile hotspot and text messaging plans dropped off my account. I'm grandfathered in with unlimited data and have always paid the extra fee for tethering too. I called customer service and they kindly added the hotspot and messaging plans back on. The rep said something about as long as it was within 30 days of changes, they can fix it.
