Help Phone becoming painfully slow!

I've had my LG G3 for about 18 months now and overall I've been very happy, however, recently its become so slow I just want to throw it at the wall!

What's the easiest way to backup everything on my phone i.e. apps, settings, email accounts, etc, so that I can go back to factory settings and start over?

I'm just about ready to dump the phone and go back to iPhone, that's how frustrated I'm getting!!

......are you rooted and have TWRP installed?

It's not rooted, and I have no idea what TWRP stands for??

I'm not sure if this is possible, but could a widget cause the phone to become so slow? The reason I ask is because I had the google calendar widget on one of my homescreens, got rid of it and all of a sudden the phone is x10 quicker!

It's common knowledge that anything put on the home screen will eat up performance (battery not so much)

I have had issues with mine a few times after updates, whether performance drops or battery life. Each time I've done a factory reset and it has worked like normal. Like you said, back up your apps/data first. How you back them up depends on what you are talking about. If you log into the app, chances are it is backed up. A factory reset also doesn't touch your SD card unless you tell it to. This is also a good time to re examine what apps you have installed and possibly get rid of some that you don't really use.
