Hi everyone :) I'm new here. I've a question. I've installed the app " Pierre the parrot " in my android phone. The app was really entertaining. But when I installed " Trust Go " anti virus, it detected the app as a virus. I deleted the app immediately. But I needed your opinions. Did anybody else got such a warning about the app? Is it really a virus or anything harmful? Please guide, I really loved this app and it's hard for me to avoid it. Thanks:)

Welcome to the forums we are glad you are here :)

Where did you get the app? Generally if you get it from the Play Store it should be free of viruses. Google is very quick to pull apps.

I've been using an andriod devices for several years now and honestly I haven't had a anti-virus apps on my phone since the beginning and I have never had a virus. I only download from REPUTABLE sources. Google Play and Amazon are two of these sources there are probably more but I wouldn't know.

Many of the so-called anti-virus apps are themselves malware, especially those from lesser-known third parties. And even the ones from the Play Store are of questionable use, and may pop up with false positive warnings just to make it appear they are doing something.
If you feel you absolutely must have such an app on your phone to make you warm and fuzzy, at least use one of the reputable name-brand ones such as Malwarebytes. Although their protective value is still debatable in the Android world (the Malwarebytes PC program is actually very good), at least these will not do any harm.
As for the app in question, if this is the one-

it appears that it should be safe since it's from the Play store and doesn't seem to have an excessive list of permissions. So chances are it's not malware.

Thank you very much for your kind replies :) Yes I've downloaded it from Google play store. So it's safe to use? And thanks for the suggestion, I'll try the Malwarebytes. I've 360 Security anti virus now , what do you think about it? Also can I have two anti virus apps at the same time in my device?

I have no idea about 360 Security. As I said above it may be anything from worthless to harmful. The need for such apps on Android is really minimal to none, especially if you only use the Play store as your app source.
I would definitely NOT recommend having multiple AV apps on your device, that is very likely to cause problems.

CM Security is by Cheetah Mobile, and anything by them should be avoided.

...and just so there is absolutely no confusion about whether or not I agree with this post I'm quoting it a third time.

Thank you very much for all your replies ☺ I'll definitely avoid CM security app☺
About 360 Security, it claims that it cleans all the junk files and boost the memory and the battery life. What do you think about it? I'm not satisfied with its anti virus activity but I think it increases the Web page loading speed to some extent by cleaning the junk files.

So, just to be careful and avoid anything harmful to my device , which AV app will you suggest?

And is there any AV app that can scan the Sd card as well? Many AV apps claim so but they don't do this.
