Help OPO not detected when connected to Laptop while charging works fine

Hello Guys,
OPO is not getting recognized when connected to a Laptop via USB Cable but it gets charged when connected to Laptop. USB got detected when I plugged it in for the first time and there after, this issue is seen. Charging of the Phone works fine when connected to a plug or Laptop via USB cable. I would be very grateful if someone could assist Me in resolving this issue. Thanks.

Regards,

Aarif.

WELCOME TO ANDROID FORUMS arifathar5 !

When you connect your phone to your laptop, look in the pull-down notifications on your phone.

It should say Connected as a Media Device or something similar.
If not,tap on the notification to change it to reading as a media device.

When doing this for the 1st time w/a new phone, you may have to allow for drivers to install (this is usually an automatic function).
Give it a few minutes & you should see your phone on your PC:

Then, you should get a window pop-up on your laptop showing your device.

Click on your device on your laptop & you should see the files that are on your phone.

Please keep us posted on your progress & once again,WELCOME TO ANDROID FORUMS ! :)

If you merely want to get items from your phone to your computer to free up space, you can do it the old school way of emailing the items to yourself and downloading to your computer. Another option is to use an app such as Dropbox to sync between your computer and phone. Once the items are synced to dropbox, you can delete from your phone and have them stored in the app so that you can retrieve them from a different device or your desktop as needed.

Also, if it is simply pictures and/or video, you can back them up using Google Photos, Amazon Photos, or other similar apps.

Hey guys,
I have recently upgraded my Oneplus to Marshmallow and since then I cannot access my files when I connect my phone to the laptop.
For eg I can see the DCIM folder but I cannot see any camera pictures inside.

I have enabled debugging, I have chosen file transfer/media transfer protocol but neither have helped, I have even wiped cache data but it's still not reading files when I connect to the laptop

Hey
I recently updated my OPO to CPS13 and ever since the update I am unable to connect it to any PC. I have enabled USB Debugging and changed USB configuration to MTP in Developer Options but still Windows doesn't recognise it. It says "The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows can not recognize it." In Device Manager it says Device Descriptor Failed and gives Error 43.
Any idea how to solve this problem?

I face the same issue of not able to connect the phone to pc via USB.. with the cable provided with OnePlus One, the device drives are not getting installed automatically. I have tried enabling the developer options for Android debugging, still no luck. I am using Win 10. Please help. :(

P.S. attached is the Screenshot of the error given in windows while i try to connect. (tried all ports different Oneplus cables too).
Error message:
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
A request for the USB device descriptor failed.

Hey since there is no reply here I was searching for a solution to the same issue after the latest update of the phone. My OPO was not seeing any files, even though it appeared to be connected.

I went to settings > developer options > select USB configuration
set to MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) and now I can see my files as before and transfer them to the computer.

Hope this helps!

Hi guys,
I tried this to no avail, OPO charges but is not recognised.

OPO doesn't show pop up or notification whatseoever.
Developer Options is set to MTP.
I tried turning debugging on and off, didn't make a difference.
OPO doesn't appear in Device Manager.

I checked drivers, I'm not too sure if they are right, though. It used to work with these same Sansung drivers.
I downloaded https://developer.android.com/studio/run/win-usb.html, but at installing them I get stuck in point 4, "Locate and expand Other device in the right pane", as I don't have Other decide (Win 8).

Any kind suggestions please? Thanks in advance.
