Metro PCS - Major Changes

I'm surprised they still dont sell the high selling Moto phones. The Asus lineup seems right in the wheelhouse for Metro's customer base as well and I am disappointed they didn't get it. That could have been a nice winner less than $200
The one touch idol 3 as well. A decent phone for the price. It's crazy because there are a lot of phones that they are missing out on.

1.5Mbps is all that's needed to stream video at 480p, which is what Data Maximizer does. HD video requires around 4-5Mbps.
sounds like you're saying metro is determining what im doing with my data (regardless of whether i have this garbage turned on or off) and only giving me enough to just get by...i really hope this doesnt turn out to be true...

If Data Maximizer is off I'd assume you could stream at over 1.5Mbps in HD, but it looks like some people still can't.

Has anyone experiencing slow video with Data Maximizer turned off contacted Metro to see what they say?

I have and all they do are make you do a bunch of silly tasks.Like removing the sim card for 5mins and then putting it back in.Or going into apps and clearing data and cache from whatever app you stream video on.

Data Maximizer switch has been added to the myMetro app finally. It's under Mobile Hotspot Usage.

I don't come on here that often since I got a Windows phone, but TMO/Metro needs to stop throttling. I have DataMaxamizer disabled and youtube, Netflix, and random pornsite are limited to 1.5Mbps. Unless I use a VPN to hide my usage, then I got the full bandwidth to do whatever. I'm on an unlimited plan by the way.
I'm with you on this, if you're in carol city I'm right around your area. Unless my YouTube and Netflix videos are on 360p or 480p it'll buffer like hell on anything above that . I'm also on unlimited with maximizer disabled. It's very frustrating, annoying, and aggravating. I hope they fix this.
I hope this helps.
Anthony.

So metro got 2 new phones not sure if there in store yet but I was hoping we would of got the better version of the k7 with the 8mp camera and the fact that its a 1.1 GHz processor is really disappointing but idk what do you guys think
Tbh, it's pretty disappointing to say the least. I'm tired of seeing metro get the super low end phones. Where's the moto g (2016), a5 (2016), or even the slightly better k10. Metro's lineup needs a tune up or something. Byod is nice but not everyone will do that.

Well, there is no Moto G (2016) yet. I do agree with your assessment about them being low end though.

The thing about the Moto G, is that only the CDMA models are sold through carriers (at least here in the States). The GSM model is only off contract and sold unlocked from Motorola and Amazon.

Haha yea I just realized that. Kinda slipped my mind. I wonder why no gsm carrier bothered to pick it up.

I have yet to be throttle and I used more than 50 gigs a month...,
I think the throttling depends on what area(congested) one is in.
Assuming no VPN use, you're very fortunate. Soft cap for unlimited is @23gb, after which "at least" deprioritizing is supposed to kick in.
I don't often surpass this(nyc), but do notice slower...although not overt enough to complain.

Same here, especially frustrating on the grandfathered Unlimited Promo...use a non metro ☎ n lose the plan.
