Root are there any N5 users around anymore? What rom are you using?

I just flashed the latest stable Cyanogenmod release, working great so far.

Gapps to use: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Google_Apps (or any number of other gapps packages).

Just as an FYI, I recommend a complete wipe if you install this, especially if you've been using the CM nightlies. I tried installing it over the nightlies and got a boot loop.

Use Titanium Backup to backup your apps and data, then just restore what you need. Good way to do a bit of housekeeping too :)

I just joined the Nexus 5 owner community and I am running Liquidsmooth 4.4.4 can't seem to get anymore zips from their site. Keep getting a connection refused error when looking for downloads. I love the phone, it is the best I have ever had: Optimus L9, Optimus F6, Optimus L70, Lg Leon. I would love to flash a 5.1.1 Liquidsmooth rom but can't seem to get a connection on their website. I was able to access it before. I would also love a workable Carbon rom and Pac rom.

Welcome Rondeau7!

I am driving Nexus 5 6.0.1 with Cataclysm ROM 12/8/2015 for last two weeks. Decided to put Moto G3 away for awhile. Running smooth, no hiccups so far.

I'm all out of ideas. I tried the newest DU and gapps and it installed but my titanium backup refused to restore. So I tried cm and their matching gapps and it flashed cm okay but failed on the gapps. Now I'm not sure what to try. I'm traveling at the end of next week and my phone is seriously having issues right now. Any ideas?

Just keep flashing away. Wipe, flash. Another problem some peeps run into is flashing incorrect gapps with lollipop. Make sure if you flash 5.0 ROM, use gapps for 5.0

Lollipop 5.1 requires updated 5.1 gapps, don't confuse them or you're gonna have Google services massive force close and a busted play store. Same goes for CM12 and 12.1

Nexus can be very finicky when flashing different ROMs, you may, in worst case have to wipe everything out and start with 4.4.x again

I finally got it working-there's a whole other thread I started. I finally used wug's toolkit to flash the latest factory image and then rerooted. It took a few tries and a lot of cussing but it's done and now it seems to be working pretty good ****KNOCK ON WOOD****

I may try flashing DU in the future but for now I'm sticking with what's working. I leave in 3 days and need my entire phone to work while I'm gone.

Meh I use the latest hammercaf blisspop build with bluemoon caf kernel, I'm overclock CPU and GPU happy and the best part is my battery doesn't die fast unless I'm playing some hardcore game like brave frontier, usually tho I use the alucard gov with with CPU freq 300-2457mhz and GPU freq 300-600mhz. Is nice with USB fat charge and Westwood TCP, io scheduler is whateve, last about 2-3 days without charge for me and battery usually chargers within an 90 mins, can b crazy if u use weird setting tho

KitKat DU was probably the best I've used, very customizable and everything worked good enough for even me. One pixel off or a single force close and I leave for something else. Running DU got kinda wonky after a while, but I think it was more of a problem with the Nexus 5 hardware itself. I'll definitely vouch for DU as a good daily.
