People were having trouble with kingoroot and their devices getting damaged so I figured I would post this as a request from @Unforgiven

Requirements:

  • Device must be on either 10b or 10d firmware
  • A computer :p

All instruction for rooting this device are in THIS post.

Basically just plug your device in and run the program, simple enough, right? :p I will add more details when/if time allows. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and I will try to answer them

Kingroot only worked on firmware build 5.0.2 OTA pushed everything to 5.1.1 and locked up the bootloaders. and busybox is a nice set of tools needed n all but you really should concider custom recovery and backup you're stock ROM after rooting as a rule of thumb. Root, recovery, backup, custom ROM. if you like ROMS at all. If not root, recovery, then run a backup from recovery or TWRP Manager or other apps like ROM Manager etc. Its just you're safest bet. I remember rooting my LG F60 with kingroot no recovery n the dumb thing started blinking a week later and cut out no recovery sooooooo ya recovery, recovery, recovery my friend. But you're gonna need a PC for any 5.1.1 build man.

Yeah you have to download an entirely new ROM on your computer and start fresh. The way to root LG Leon with newer firmware is Kingroot(the latest version) and you would have to root it basically every time your phone turns on.

really? because i just unbricked my phone from the same situation...was it because i didnt root my device after a reboot?
