Why, so they can pretend to be the victim instead?!

As men, we can only assume that ALL women do. That's why I want to hear it from a different perspective.

A man cant hit a woman same applies to woman cant hit a men, however the man can hit the woman (also applies to woman) if its under the 2nd admendment of the condituituon that your leagally allwoed to defend yourself if another party or person attacks, , hits etc you FIRST, however even if both parties attacked eachother ut isnt srlf defense unless a judge says its self defence and protected by u.s constitution both parties will be arestted if the incident was not placed inside of the home of the victim.

I have more experience with folks and mental issues that I needed to know about...

Took me 3 years with a PHD Psychologist to learn that "I can't fix them", I can only learn to deal with it, and leave it all in the past.

I look after me now, they can go to hell.
That's Savage, but still I understand that we can't fix them we can only hope they want to be "normal" enough to try. So many nights of tears mood swings and what can i even do moments. I want to fix but can't....

You hit me I am hitting you back don't care about your sex obviously they don't either.

I used to say I would never hit a woman and I have only done so twice. The first time I was 19 in an argument went to walk away she grabbed me I reacted with a punch. I felt bad for several weeks and broke it off with her because I couldn't face it. The second time was my ex who was wailing on the 15 year old at the time. I got between them held the 15 year old up against the wall behind me with my but and had my hand over my wifes throat against the opposite wall in the hallway and firmly told her if she ever hit that kid again I would kill her. Ironically I didn't feel bad when that one happened. I don't recall her ever hitting the kid again either.

I stopped my wife from beating the crap out of our 13yo son one time.

... we have both regretted that ever since.

I do not think it is right or appropriate for anyone to hit anyone in a relationship or out of a relationship. Touching is meant for loving, and if you use the same hands to hurt as heal, you are not doing it right. Most of all, men should never hit a woman unless it is in self defense. And then only as a last resort, unless they look like Jimmy Snooka. That might qualify but still and all, there is so many other options. Walk away, ignore them, stay away from them, break the relationship, shall I go on. Just removing ones self from a situation as described stops the problem from happening. Again, though, I want to stress that no one should be hitting someone else, especially if there is a loving and caring relationship with the opposite person.

Sometimes there is no option to walk away. Crazy people don't let you; neither do drunks, a lot of the time.

sort of on the same topic, but with the same results:

Last night, my daughter and I attended a Gun Safety Seminar provided by https://www.uslawshield.com/

They emphasis over, and over, and over, "tell them Stop!" go away, and if necessary, you are to leave the premises.
Call 911 if you think you have to, but even that should be the next to Last Resort..... because if you are a CCW licensed person, and the LEOs get involved, it is $10,000-$15,000 in fees just to get to the point they say "oh, sorry, no charges filed against you, you can go home now".... and if a vehicle/property is involved it is towed, stored, and fees incurred... ( and if you don't have an attorney, get one )

And, what has NOT been said in this thread so far:

If you call 911, provide only the Basic Required Information:
ie, "circumstances" ( Breaking and entering/Weapons Involved?/medical help needed/family disturbance: your name, the address) and then you shut your mouth. You can stay on the line, but don't talk... but they told us at the Seminar HANG UP!

all 911 calls are recorded and are Evidence against YOU!!!

never say " I did ....... " as that is evidence, you admitted to guilt. When the LEO arrives, you are calm, "collected you hope" and You always say, I will totally comply with all of your questions once my representative is here.... ( this actually gives the LEOs a sigh of relief, as they then know the situation has calmed down )

and they also tell you, that the LEOs will up front, tell you "you have the right to be silent" and that is for your protection.... they told us that "in the heat of the moment, people blab things they should not, and would not have, if they were calm"
AND that people cannot report with any accuracy at all about the events at the time it happens.... you see things you don't recognize until 48 hours later.... you hear things you don't know you heard....

that is why the LEOs are always given "Administrative Leave" pending investigations.... you set down, rest, go home, get your nerves settled down.... then you talk to your attorney and put the facts together in a coherent manner...

IF the call is for the Fire Department, do stay on the line so 911 knows when the 1st responders are there to assist you/and you are still alive.

Sounds like typical gun nut anti government BS.

ummm, you did not attend the seminar, it was put on by the LEOs themselves...
they were just telling us what happens in these events....
and the two lawyers present presented the same thing from their side of the events...

it is just best to totally stay out of the web of that kind of entanglement, and that was their whole point.
backup, run, get away... do not pull out a gun and start pointing it....
you don't even pull up your shirt to show it off, "that is Brandishment and will get you behind the iron bars"

they spent a full half hour on just "family disputes" where no weapons got involved....
it was well worth the time to listen to.

that was my 3rd seminar, and all of them have been consistent with their presentations...
