Root [TOOL][ALPHA] ZTE Max Unbrick Tool [NEED TESTERS!!!]

Hey superR I'm using the disk CWM with virtual machine oracle connected USB to My N9520 ZTE boost Max running a stormer stock b07 rooted with kingoroot. Flashed and didn't backup anything now it's boot looped and DFU mode.

DISCLAIMER: By using this tool, you agree that you are the only one responsible for anything good or bad that may occur. Use at your own risk.;)

For Boost Mobile ZTE Max N9520 only.

This is the ZTE Max Unbrick Tool

Download stormer_test_unbrick.iso

Use your favorite burning software to burn the iso image to cd. I like ImgBurn for windows because it is free, easy, and effective. Once the cd is burned, put it in your pc and reboot. Enter into your pc bios and change the boot order to making the cd drive the first to boot. Normally to get into pc bios, you need to press one of the following: del, f2, f10, or f12. It depends on the pc but it is normally right after the pc starts and it will say on the screen which one to press.

Once you get it booted on your pc, put your device in DFU mode (hold both volume buttons along with power). Plug in your device, click the green android icon on the desktop, press ok or enter on the password prompt, type "stormer" which is the codename for your device (you will see a chart) and press enter. Confirm with "y" then press enter, and wait.

Personally I make bootable usb flash drives instead of cd's. There is a program called Unetbootin that makes the process very easy.

Don't use a virtual machine, he said explicitly to make a Live boot disk or USB and run off of it. Windows is only gonna cause you grief with Android. Try actually following directions before you mess up & start complaining. The directions were there for a specific purpose, like Order of Operation. There isn't much playroom with software to just be doin' What'cha feel like. @SuperR might be more patient and better elaborate on this, but he's not gonna be much happier that you can't follow directions he specifically posted before you messed your phone up. Make you the Live boot disk or USB (it is its OWN OS!) then try again. Don't involve Windows in any way/shape/form if you want the best results. [emoji41]

In directions listening is one right? say I burned Stitaz ISO and followed the direction for boot order in which I placed my PC bios to read dvd/cd first. No luck tried live CD then UNetbootin method with USB method for ISO files. No virtual machine for checking ISO to see if it works. I works but can't get it to boot from live CD.

hmm.. Ok. My apologies. [emoji28] Maybe you have a corrupted download? It happens and can be very frustrating, plus could possibly explain the issue. Try to redownload the iso and redo the USB to see if that helps..??

The issue is I downloaded the max unbrick ISO and burned using two different ISO burning programs one like superR said IMG burn and I have powerISO on windows 10. I burned the zip ISO Stitaz to DVD -R. ZTE Boost Max won't go into its Android recovery screen only FTM Mode. FTM mode does read to my PC under debug mode once plugged into USB cord. Can the tool work from FTM mode is what im asking?

hello is this sill work I'm stu6ck in a bootloop and i downloaded this and I keep getting the wrong password has been entered and I put stormer but still wrong password has been entered
As the OP says, "press ok or enter at the password prompt". The password is pre-filled. FYI, the password is root but you should not need to enter it.

The newer ZTE devices are like Fort Knox. No bootloader unlock and no unpatched exploits. They really don't want you rooting them :(

Bah, blasted all. Well under dev options there's a enable OEM unlock option, wouldnt this make it unlockable? Iv tried to access boot loader, but adb reboot boot loader only returns to system. It has ftm mode and dfu mode too. Can't seem to issue fastboot commands to it at all :/

You probably need some codes to unlock it and good luck getting them from ZTE. May be worth calling them and asking if you have too much time and want to laugh at their "amazing" service. If you have dfu you can try the tester option in this unbrick tool and see if it connects. If so, there may be hope.

Sadly, it is not recognised by the tester option of the tool :/ thank you tho I'll see about getting some codes!

I think black screen with red light on is dfu, but I am not certain since I don't own one of these devices. Hopefully someone else can help you more if you need it.
