MIUI For G Stylo (T-Mo and Metro)?

Best bet would probably be finding the closest most similar hardware wise phone that has MiUi available running on LP and to start working on a port...

But I think as someone stated once a long while ago for the Note 3 and Edge, if this were possible Xiaomi would be shooting themselves in the foot and committing logical business suicide cause the hardware it's running on would be a lot better then their standard official and supported hardware it's released on.

So chances are nope in short explanation!

Yeah when I had my Note Edge I was hunting left and right for MiUi for it... I loved that S Features could be implemented in MiUi, but there was no sign of hope for MiUi on the Edge or the Note 4, I don't even think there's MiUi for the Note 3, but I could be wrong.

It'd be awesome if we could get MiUi for the G Stylo or hell even Mokee OS or Chameleon OS, which have a lot of MiUi influence in their rom's and ui. I think we'd have much better luck with one of those two as they're more CM than MiUi and we already have a CM base to build off of. LoL

imm pretty sure i can use patchrom to try and build from our stock rom and miui7 source. dev rom would be prefered. make sure you have a debrick method before doing this! i am not responsible if your phone "eats your cat" in the words of Cyanogen team.

unless you know what you're doing, i recommend holding off for now on flashing anything not made for your device. im starting a stylo telegram chat for stylo users to communicate in real time if anyone is interested and would like to track or aid my build efforts.

edit: first patch failed
looks like we need to find framework2.jar

edit 2: seems that i may have more help than i realized from being on a stock rom and having twrp for this device.. i'm doing everything on the ms631, but it should work on tmob. currently pulling all the files. and i guess we'll see where it puts us. hopefully there wont be too much missing from the extracted files to be able to build and boot. I was running into those problems when trying to bringup cm12.1 to cm13, wcnss_lge_client isnt very friendly with MM

When I flash it I'd be sure to have a TWRP Sd backup handy. LoL

ok so right now i have the stockrom.zip that is build from the stock rom through recovery.. with some modifications to the update script i was able to make it flash for the ms631 by disabling the key checks. ( if any other devs are reading this we need to make it to where the device reads as g4stylusn instead of h631). but it flashed and now im working on resolving conflicts. may have a beta by the end of the night.

edit: so as it turns out, there are a LOT of smali rejects that i have to fix. that being said, i think we may have a chance at MIUI 7 afterall.. bear with me, I'm at work until 10 pm eastern time. and then ill see where i can get with the rejects later

So basically when building miui 7 from source, it only patches lgs filesystem that is already in tact by creating a Stockrom.zip and replacing certain framework java files with miui 7 code. The patchrom tool was designed to work with android 4.4.4 and I think that's where I'm having problems. I can't even get the stockrom.zip to boot. I'll be off work at 5:30 and I'll try working on a zip port of the redmi zip you're using. Speaking of, did you get it to boot to boot animation?

There's also this if the port from the Redmi 2 to the Stylo is easy enough: http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-2/development

Its a little bit different porting from source. LG does some tricky stuff with their framework.

Edit... Also its worth noting that flashing the redmi version (if it boots) will probably have broken WiFi and radio. The mi2 is CDMA and we have gsm

Couldn't that be fixed by flashing a modem, if we're able to extract a modem.
Not necessarily..
I think we should try a different approach... Its either the f60 or f90 or something that's lg msm8916 and has miui 7. Idr which it is. We should attempt to flash their version. Since it uses lge vendor dirs and minimal changes would be necessary. I may try a source port from cm12.1 rather than stock later after work though..

Edit...
Hours and hours of miui have made me sick lol. I've decided to abandon this miui project for now and focus on cm13 bringup.
