The thing about Evernote is, everything actually lives on a Server somewhere in the Cloud.....
but, a copy of it is always kept on your local device, whatever that might be.
for me, that is any smartphone I have ever used.... and all of the Windows PCs that I have used.
Each device is configured so that when I exit the app, any changes that I make locally are Sync'd up to the Server....
Each time you open Evernote, it checks to see if the local copy is in sync with the Server.... if not, it syncs right then.
Here is a scenario that I would postulate that "could have" saved your tailbone ( being pc here ).
your phone takes a crap, you dumped it in the toilet, it fell out of your hands, and bounced off the bridge and went kerplop in the bay.... never to be seen again.....
Oops!!! that was an expen$ive mi$take.... but, you open your wallet, buy a new SmartPhone, install Evernote again, login with your own Username and Password ( you damn well better never, ever, forget that password) and then when you are logged in, all of your "lost notes" come back to you.
You are happy that all is well in your mental health world, even though your bank account is thinner....
I really wish I could say the same for "S Notes", but IMO, any note taking app that only lives on the device is garbage.... w/o a daily backup, you are sunk.
For you? I don't understand, why "S Notes" was not being backed up onto the SD card?
