Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

Sorry to hear that...I completely understand!

UPDATE...

Bad news for me today...I am now on a Process Improvement Program at my job...meaning one more screw up and I am terminated.

Soooo...I am required to be veeeerrryyy carefully what I say and do

From here on out, if I am caught saying anything negative about my boss to anyone...I am terminated.

And, of course I am required to do what I am told to do by my boss, and only what I am told to do, and nothing more.

So honestly, I will do what I can do to keep my job for now, since right now the job market, for the skills I have, sux right now, but I am going to to update my resume.

Sorry to hear that, sounds like an awful situation. I'd be looking to get out of there ASAP, so I think you're right to get your CV up to date.

I'll tell ya what's driving me nuts lately. All of the discussion forums I belong to (there's about 6 or 8 these days) are super duper slow lately. I mean like nutting going on. And doggone it I read and participate in these things to keep my mind from turning to mush over the expanse of my 9 hour work days. Darn it people, don't you realize you're killing me slowly here? Now get out there and ENTERTAIN ME!!!! LOLERZ....
But seriously I need more daily stimulus. Anyone have any suggestions about other forums that are still jumping? (I already have car, boat, comics, travel, tech blogs and boards covered)

Come on then, let's have an argument

I've been hearing this hum, buzz lately. In the house. Like a motor or pump that's constantly working, day and night. I cannot determine where it is coming from. It's driving me nuts!
It's only indoors, outdoors it's silent. So it's not in my head. My partner's not hearing it; must be his working in a loud environment and attending concerts that's ruined his hearing a bit.
I'm going to pull plugs now, one by one. It should stop humming at one point then, eh?

You know there's been places (around the world - but most recently in Washington state I believe) where residents have all or most heard a hum, buzz, whine, sound ... lets hope that's not your situation. :D

On my first Government-sanctioned trip to Australia, I treated myself to an expensive but very nice gift-- a Dryzabone oil-cloth duster. Full length. Paid less than half it would have cost me in the US. On my next trip out that way, I bought the optional hood.

I've had this combination for sixteen years, but since I live in an irrigated desert, I have only three or four opportunities to wear it (even less this past five years due to the drought) every year.

Obviously, a rain coat is not a common item of clothing around here, and a duster is ever rarer.

All day, I have been hearing cowboy jokes, with the occasional Columbine reference thrown in for good measure.

My favorites so far include "show me your piece" (You don't want to see my piece) and "when you walk around, I want to hear the sound of spurs" this last coming from my workmate Letters, whose deafness is really getting bad (They'd be pretty damn big spurs if you're going to hear them).

Pictures or it didn't happen. o_O
Really I just love a good duster and I'm interested to see what you got, and I'd also be interested to know what it set you back. (I have a friend in OZ and I'm sure he'd ship me one - so long as the cost of the duster + the cost of shipping didn't make it better just to by domestically)

Heh... considering how long ago that was... don't think I have any pictures.

It's the full-length riding coat duster, and it set me back something like $150 at the time, and the hood was another $60-70. But like I said, this was 16 years ago. It's time for a new treatment, and a downside to these is that they reek of oil.

I also got me a genuine Australian folding leather hat, but Dngrswife never like it. Haven't found another decent leather hat that I was willing to pay for... the folding one was only $35, and nowadays if you want leather here in the US, you'd better be willing to fork over at least $60 for an el cheapo.

As a kinda "get off my lawn" old man. What exactly is snapchat? I hear about it on the Twitter and what not but I have no idea what exactly it is, what it does and what the attraction is....
I don't get it either but I have none what so ever problems with apps that do not work or a phone turning all blackscreen. Love my S6 on marshmallow ;)

Just wanted to say that I am soooo Sorry for my rude behavior this week on this site....

I honestly did not mean to offend anyone with my stupid rants...

Please forgive me....I am just going through some rough times at work.

I sincerely promise to be more respectful to everyone here and I promise to be much less 'prideful' and much less 'egotistical'

I promise to be more careful what I say and more careful how I say it.
