Android Question

I have a BGH joy A7, Android 4.4 and had all my apps installed in the internal memory. No problem there. Yesterday I bought a 8 gb microsd card, inserted and mounted on the phone.
Suddenly all folders copied into the microsd and as a result I have duplicated folders but some features of apps or old (before the microsd insertion) whatsapp images or voice notes don't exist anymore. When I unmount the microsd the old images and etc appear again but the new ones (those received after I got the microsd) doesn't exist. So I have to mount or unmount the card in order to retrieve old or new files. Some features of Apps as TouchPal keyboard swipe function won't work while the sdcard is Mounted, but will if it's not.

My default storage is still internal memory and I like it that way, since I got the microsd just to storage music and videos.

Any ideas why? And how can i stop it?

Thx

Maria

Unexpected and strange things going on as a result of data corruption is usually indicative of a fake SD. Unknown origin is definitely wrong for a Kingston. Tell the seller what you've seen here, SD Insight, and what's going on with your device. And if was an eBay or Amazon seller, inform them, as selling counterfeit products is illegal.

I went to the shop and talked to the seller. Never admitted it could be a fake, Kept saying it wasn't possible and that the app was failing. No way I would go away with that answer so I stayed until he gave me the money back. Told him he should check his supplier anyway.
I went to the shop across the street and got a SanDisk 16gb. According to SD card insight it's OK.

Thanks for the advice!

Hi again.

So far, memory is working fine. But I still can't get the apps to write new content in the internal SD. For example, new app data such as ringtones I download or whatsapp images I received, are store directly in the external SD, so I have two folders (one on each memory) and new data keeps going to the ext. Card. I don't want it. I have set Internal storage as default storage but it's not working.

Thank you

Maria
