What do you dislike about the Turbo 2

My 2 complaints,..... Battery.... It's not terrible, but it's not as good as my original turbo. 2nd is screen to body ratio, way too much wasted space at top and bottom. I think this screen could have been a 5.7". This speaker at the bottom isn't nearly good enough to justify taking up that much space.

Don't get me wrong... I love my phone! Just my $.2

It has two speakers down by the chin, but only one is used. That is stuuuu-pid.

Also, what is up with Recovery Mode not being accessible?

And also that dang Apps Optimizing screen - how random is that. Saw it for the first few weeks after any reboot, then totally cool for months, then today, wham another "Optimizing" session. sucked 15% of the battery too, from a full charge.

There are two speaker openings. There is only one speaker. The reports that there are stereo speakers are incorrect.

I personally Wipe Cache Partition every Saturday by going into Recovery mode. What do you mean that this is not accessible? The sticky above tells you how to use it.

Apps Optimizing Screen? Is it an app that you installed? I sure hope you aren't running ANY app form Cheetah Mobile.

My complaints (coming from HTC One M8):
- no notification LED. What year is this?
- cannot control ring volume and notification volume separately. Wow, never heard of such a thing!
- getting to lock screen widgets requires pressing the side button (can't disable Moto Display).
- "Connected to Wifi" shows in notification pull down every time phone is woken up.

LEDs were replaced by the active display. This was going on for quite a while ... Droid Maxx, Droid Turbo, and Droid Turbo 2.

The approach to volume controls is a little dumb. There are seven volume controls and they are accessible through third party widgets. I personally use Tasker.

Thanks. I tried volume controls built into Widgetsoid and I can change the notification volume there, but it simply resets back to same as ring volume as soon as I close/open it. Guess I can try another app.

EDIT: tried three more volume control apps. They all do the same thing. Cannot control ring volume separate from notification volume with any of them.

In a word: Everything.

- Way too bulky ( I knew going in that it was going to be the largest phone I've ever owned but it's just so awkward for me )
- Bluetooth pairing is absolutely horrible. I've spent several hours over the last few months trying to get it sufficiently paired with my PC and it just refuses to cooperate, thus rendering the BT useless for my PC ( on a side note, thank goodness it pairs fine with my car - which is strange but for some reason it doesn't play nice with my PC ... and it's not a PC issue as all my other devices work just fine with the PC )
- "Shatterproof" screen is a joke. I've had it for not even 2 1/2 months and it's already got a few nicks in the screen ( by weight of comparison I've had quite a few smartphones over the years and I'm careful enough to never need a screen protector ... but apparently I need one with the T2 )
- Radios not up to Motorola standard on Verizon
- Tremendous lag for being so new, especially after just waking up ( again, only had it for a couple months, I'm not a heavy user and have minimal apps installed, but yet it doesn't keep up with me )
- Poorly built ... already my DROID logo is peeling, there seems to be a few bits of moisture under the screen, and the buttons don't always "catch"
- Camera, even though improved from T1 is the worse camera I've ever had on any smartphone ever owned
- Drops WIFI in and out all the time
- Took several attempts to get the SD card working properly - still feel like it's a crapshoot whether it will work or not at any given time

Literally - there's almost nothing I like about it.

I'm coming from a first generation Moto X which I absolutely adored! It was still going strong and a freaking workhorse up to the day I got the T2 - I didn't even need to upgrade but felt that I wasn't using my plan to its potential if I didn't. Now I'm kicking myself for doing it and I'm stuck paying off this POS over 24 months with Verizon. I'm most likely going to transfer all the pics off the Moto X to my computer and put it back on my main line and throw the T2 in a drawer to rot. The only drawback to the Moto is the lack of SD capability - hence the need to offload all my pics for more space.

The only thing that brandonhutch mentioned that I could even conceive as being truthful... is the issue with size. I have no issue with the size myself now that I've grown accustom to it, but I could see others not liking that... everything else mentioned seems unlikely or fabricated..

I've had zero issues paring with any of my other bluetooth devices... The screen is shatterproof but was never said to be scratchproof... ever. The radio reception is better in ever area I've had issues with connections in the past and even it's WiFi has good "reach". Having owned the original Droid, Droid 2, Bionic and even the Droid Ultra, I feel that is saying a lot. My Turbo 2 has no lag to speak of and is the smoothest operating smartphone I've owned to date. The pics it takes blow away the Droid Ultra which was up till then the best I've seen on a Motorola smartphone. It's also got to be one of the toughest phones I've gotten from Motorola ( I got the ballistic back version ). I've also had no issues with my SD card...

If he is being truthful and not just trolling... then he needs to warranty his while he can...

Yeah ... I made the whole thing up. All of it. Nothing I said is true in my case. Nothing. I fabricated it all for attention. Just call me Donald Trump.

I may use my lockline to get another one, but at this point I'm ready to go back to my Moto X.

I don't take well to being called a liar ... you can kindly FO. These are my experiences only - I don't purport to speak for the whole of everyone who owns one. The thread is "What do you dislike about the Turbo 2." ... my response stands as my experience.

I do like the turbo charging feature ( one of the main reasons I chose it to begin with ). There, is that better?

The experiences documented do not coincide with my experiences. Perhaps it is a defective unit that needs to be replaced. The statement about moisture might indicate water damage that could explain an awful lot.

The front "lens" on the screen is actually plastic. It was designed to protect the screen underneath and be replaceable if it gets marked up. There are replacements available from both Verizon and Motorola. It is actually what has the Verizon logo on it. It is softer then the gorilla glass used in other devices. Very few people I talked to in Verizon stores know this .

Yes, this is what I've been pretty much thinking ever since I got it but of course I'm the guy who is too lazy to actually go and return it if I don't have an alternative ( which I do - the Moto X ... and I can't say enough good things about that phone ). In the back of my mind I know I have that to fall back on so that's why I haven't taken it up with Verizon. I've had so many phones and seemed to have always had good luck with them - maybe it was just my turn for a lemon.

The nicks are in the center of the screen. I guess I just figured that since it was "shatterproof" that it would be hard to muck up but I guess that's what I get for assuming ( and truth be told I've NEVER ... literally never ... had any issue with any of the screens on my past phones. I don't use a screen protector/case, never have and never will. I just didn't see the need for me to get one as I'm super careful with them. That's why I was so surprised to see the gouges in the screen, and I don't even know what may have caused them as I never allow anything to come into contact with my phones. ) Most likely I will just live with it until I get too fed up with it that I just switch phones or I pay enough of it off that I don't mind putting another phone on my bill when something "better" comes along.

I don't use a screen protector. I have no nicks. You can get a 3-pack of replacement front screens from Venison. The independent Verizon store I checked at did not have them (didn't know they existed). The corporate Verizon store did.

The moisture you mentioned should be a real concern to you. Moisture of any kind can be devastating in the damage it causes. It is not waterproof. One person I talked to seemed to have had a problem by listening to music in a steamy bathroom while he took a shower. The moisture nailed the phone.

I had the X, then the Bionic, then the Maxx, then the Turbo, and now the Turbo2. The Turbo 2 is by far the best I've ever used.

Your experiences don't seem typical. Don't settle. Moisture seems to be a real possibility. If that is not it the replacement would seem to be in order.

Yes, I agree. But I did read the review on phonearena that basically shrugged it off - and I agreed with most of what they had to say. I dunno, I'm just a bit scorned from the whole thing and I'm not sure I'm into the whole replacement thing. I've never heard many good things from replacement deals with Verizon ... I would absolutely not be into a refurbished unit and I'm not sure I could get a new one - although you probably know better than me. If it goes out on me completely I still have my backup ( if I'm not already using it as my main by then ). I dunno if I want to go through the whole thing.

We'll see. I actually came here looking to see if anyone else was having issues and, of course, I didn't find any.

I have a hard time justifying the whole replacement route when the phone is usable if not inconvenient - again, just lazy. Heh.

Here you go, Thom ... another example ...

When I woke up today I had a system update ready for me that would take me to Marshmallow. So I clicked on 'install' and it gave a countdown to restart the phone. When it reached 'zero' nothing happened. So I gave it 20 minutes or so to see if it was lagging on the installation. Then I went to System Updates in settings and took the attached pictures.

So did Verizon send out a faulty update? Was there really no update and this was a phantom? Or is the phone not working properly? As a side note the WIFI is super good and is working just fine. I have since tried to check for system updates again and it keeps saying that I'm up to date with 23.31.23.kinzie_verizon.en.US ... which according to the "update" isn't the "up to date" version - which would allow me to update to Marshmallow.

Your phone is acting VERY peculiar. If it was mine I would straighten out the existing problems before throwing [reforming a major system upgrade on top of them.

Water damage? Defective phone?

Throwing Marshmallow at it is not going to improve anything.

The OTA is in two parts. I have 300 apps installed and the first part seemed to run forever. The second part is 1.2GB download and installs faster. I strongly recommend that the Turbo 2 be plugged into the turbo charger while running both parts.

If it was me I would be standing in a Verizon store with it in my hand.
