Root [Boost Mobile] [MOD] Universal Boost APN fix for D2LTE builds [MOD]

I'm on vm. But I use r2. It's the same thing on both besides actual apn.
Make sure you skip activation if setup wizard asks.
Full wipe
Flash rom, gapps and apn fix
Boot up (and setup I guess) lol
Back to recovery and flash rom and gapps again (no wipe, no apn fix)
All nightly updates are normal, just use ota setting or just dirty flash nightly and wipe cache and dalvik.
Thanks! Worked for me. Got LTE running on CM12.1 - Boost S3

Can this be undone? Same for modems? How can these be "uninstalled"? If that the verbiage? I haven't gone rooting since the transform ultra. Now I got the SPH-710 with no service. Can you still donate on this site? :)
You need to odin the correct tar file for your model. Do you have the triband? If so, you are in the wrong place.

Yes I have the Triband. I got it working again with the
ALL_SPT_L710TVPU0ANF4_L710TSPT0ANF4_1683363_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5.

Where am I supposed to go for compatible Roms? There was a outage yesterday in my area. Other Roms had the 4G going in and out, maybe that was just the outage? Only, when I ODIN'ed the tar everything is awesome, so that isn't outage.

Software version L710tvpu0anf4
Hardware L710t.03
Kernel 3.4.0-1683363 dpi@swdd59902 #2
build KOT49H.L710TVpu0anf4
SE for Android SEPF_SPH-710t_4.4.2_0016

So I recently started running cm12.1 on my boost s5 and so far no amount of APN adjustments have helped me get mobile data except flashing this HOWEVER I'm still having some problems. About 80% of the time it still doesn't get a mobile data signal, 15% 3g, 5% LTE. When it does get 3g or LTE it will inevitably drop that signal either after a few minutes or hours or as soon as the phone connects to and disconnects from WiFi. Once that happens I can only get mobile data back by either rebooting the phone or I sometimes have to flash a nandroid made in twrp from the other day.

Any advice from the andreniusses? I would love to keep running CyanogenMod but needless to say, no data is a deal breaker. Thankies!

P.S. also half the time it tells me I haven't got authorization to see or edit APN settings. When this happens a reboot with WiFi on will usually solve it. Don't know if it's related.

This is not for the s5, that could be your problem. But I found a while back that you have to do another flash for data to work on cm12.1 on the s3.
So far everyone who's followed my directions have gotten lte, might work for you.
Full wipe
Flash rom, gapps and apn fix
Boot system (I usually do setup on WiFi here)
Boot back to recovery and dirty flash rom only (no wipe no apn fix)

Thanks! Yeah I was thinking the different models could have been behind it as well but this was still the most effective.

As of a few hours ago I think I may have stumbled upon the right fix, I
created a new nandroid after having already flashed this fix
did a full wipe
flashed cm
stayed in twrp and flashed this fix again
restored only the boot and data

weird, but so far it seems to have completely solved it. not quite as good of reception as stock but definitely good enough, like 90% of the LTE coverage.
It's been a few hours now and it's still working correctly. Any more problems and I will try your method and post any info I find in case there are any other s5 users out there with the same issue.

I have been trying to find a solution for a few days, and finally decided to get deep into it tonight. Google searches usually sent me to this thread, but the fix posted didn't work on my phone running CM12.1. The more I looked in to it, the more I figured out about how new phones are working. My S4 sph-l720 is a Sprint branded phone running officially on the boost mobile MVNO under their new BYOB device policy. They activate phones older than 1 year with clean esn's now. Anyway, the MCC and MNC of my phone were 311 and 870 respectively. These are not the normal 310 120 numbers sprint uses, therefore this didn't work to fix the APN on my phone running cyanogenmod... nor any rom for the matter.

Below is the work of MopedRyder, junkie2100, punkmaxx, struckn combined with a tweak to fit the new MCC MNC codes. This shows in the build.prop as 311870 under numeric. For you boost folks, it'll get you all set up. Again, this is the network boost uses for this situation. Maybe all boost phones can run it, but I can't test any. The only edits to the original file in the OP were changing the numeric MCC and MNC to 311 870, and adding hipri to the type columns. All else is identical. Still, flash at your own risk. This seems to be the most popular thread for the boost apn fix, so I figured I'd try to help out where people in my situation can find it. Calls, SMS, MMS, Internet, it all works very well for me using this with my preferred network type as Global and Auto: Domestic Roaming selected.

Edit: After thinking about that, I dug some more and saw this commit for CM12.1. http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/101325/
It appears the LTE and eHRPD networks may not need a "bearer" specified. I'm playing with that right now, but the point of this edit is because the CM team has been making changes that may effect the need for this fix to even be utilized. There was a massive apn update as well adding many MVNO providers. I've yet to find out if boost's 311870 numeric code made it in, but by the commit, I'd say it's only the sprint apn even though the boost apn should be the same. If the zip doesn't work right away, you could try deleting the "bearer in the apn-config.xml file after the two boost entries.

OMG I could just hug yaz to death.. I have been trying to get the #%$^%# boost APN to sit tight and stay put and your wisdom was spot perfect for my Boost Mobile S3 (L710VPUCNJ3). ever gratefull tyz..

I have an LG G2 (version LS980) activated on the boost network that doesn't get any data after flashing a ROM and using this universal APN Fix zip file. I have a basically stock Android Marshmallow 6.0 ROM called crdroid. I get calls and texts without the apn fix, and after trying your zip fix, the network name changes from sprint to boost mobile, but I still don't get any data. Can anybody help me with this? I really hope so!

This is for the s3. You may have better luck in a g2 thread.
Thread title says "for d2lte" which is the S3.

So I bought a new computer a while back. Haven't messed with my phone in a while, but I just broke it and had to find one quick. A $50 dollar L720T (Spark version of my old phone) and a fresh download of the newest CM13 nightly, and I figured I was back in the game. Then I ran in to APN problems again. I must have tried 10 different ones that were supposed to work, then I remembered I uploaded my file to this thread. LOL. I've been messing with it for hours, and all I needed to do was download my own old fix and flash it. Pics are flowing again. If you're playing with cyanogenmod 12 or 13 like me on a sprint phone that has been activated on boost mobile, It'll still work. You may have to reboot and flash it a second time if the first doesn't take. There. Now google can find this. MANY props to mopedryder. It seems his work found it's way in to lots of hands that didn't give him the credit he deserves.

I've been using a 4.4.4. ROM (LiquidSmooth) for about a year and a half and recently decided to update to CM13, since they started releasting d2spr nightlies. I got everything installed and setup (ROM, gapps, APN fix), but LTE wouldn't work, only 3G. I just wanted to post to say that just reflashing the CM13 ROM again got it working, so thank you. Not sure why it works, but I had tried everything else I could find and nothing else helped. I'm on Virgin Mobile, so it works for that, too.

Yeah that's how you have to do it for lp and mm roms.

Was about to download the zip but have a question before doing so. I've been using the Blisspop ROM for agood month now, and have just got fed up with the no APN disadvantages. I want to flash this, but was I supposed to do this right when I flashed my ROM? Is it too late, would I have to reflash everything? Thanks in advance, hopefully someone sees this.
