Evo June 4th for $199.00

No, wasn't joking. I did a quick google search and didn't see it. Sorry for the cynicism, this board has been overflowing with rumors of all sorts lately.

Here's the Twitter page it's linking to Sprint (sprint) on Twitter

No worries, my bad. I am one of those people who only posts screen shots and confirmed things.

I am not a rumor kind of guy. Tends to hurt the reputation.

Extra $10 a month for 4G use and another $29.99 a month to use the tethering hotspot thing.

Press Release

That's crazy, I thought Dan Hess had already said that there would be no extra cost for 4g???

Color me unimpressed with the Evo now. Not for the extra monthly costs but a couple other things caught my attention.

Comes with an 8GB sdhc, but the incredible came with 8GB built in plus you can use an sdhc.

Only 65k colors? Really?

the mobile hotspot monthly fee pretty much endures that they are going to start monitoring data usage and start cracking down on rooted phones using wifi tether for free.

This is exactly why I wish they had released the Nexus one still. Something about the Evo now just feels wrong for me.

It turns the phone into a mobile hotspot. So you can connect your laptop and other wifi devices to the internet to use your data plan.

This is something we can do for free when rooted right now.

I am afraid that this will be coming to a end when the Evo gets released.I think Sprint has just been looking the other way when it comes to tethering. Now with the release of the Evo and a set price for tethering I look for them to start monitoring this very closely.

That was one of the points I made in post 17. It sucks.

Linx, yes Mobile hotspot, or wifi tether like we use now, basically turns your phone into a wireless router to access the internet.
