Rejecting incoming calls and "SIM from unknown source" popup fix

First big thanks to Doctoror!!!

I must be missing something obvious to everyone else when I go to Settings/Wireless & networks/mobile networks/Access Point Names the only option I am given is "reset to default"

How do I add an APN? (I have a Simyo.de chip I want to add the APN for....)

My phone is not rooted and is an M070.

It's a new "feature" of Verizon since M040 that doesn't allow adding APN's.
It will automatically configure if you use Verizon sim.
Otherwise you have to root the device and use Offline SIM Database to apply your settings.
There is no method without root or custom recovery.

Great new "feature"....I use Verizon when I am in the USA (most of the time). And Simyo (same as E-plus) for European travels. If I do the method described in the post you referenced will have destroy my Verizon settings.

My thought is no since I only see the APN settings for Verizon when the Verizon SIMM is in the phone...somehow it must pull the settings from the SIMM chip?

You're welcome.

These kind of pre-configured settings are stored in apns.conf file. The device detects SIM's network and if there is an entry for your network in apns.conf, it will show up in APN menu.

@Doctoror I am having problems adding the APN. The menu only shows "Restore Defaults". Ihave a C811 with Android 4.1.2 Baseband version C811M050. It is rooted and i purchased the Offline SIM APN app. Although the app says that the settings have been applied when i go the APN page it is blank. How could I go about editing the apns.conf file manually? Great phone but with no data it will have to go in the spare parts drawer. I live on a caribean island and have a LIME sim.

@[SIZE=4]fumandor[/SIZE], you probably forgot to convert the "Offline SIM APN" to system app. In order to do this, you can use "Titanium Backup" (I'm not sure whether you need pro version to do this or not. Also you probably can do it manually by moving the APK from /data/app to /system/app folder and setting the rw-r--r-- permissions, but it's easier to use Titanium Backup for this). Open Titanium, navigate to "Backup/Restore", find the "Offline SIM APN" in the app list, short press on it and the dialog will open. Swipe the dialog to right to open "Special features" tab. On the bottom of the list you will find "System ROM" category and "Convert to system app" feature. After converted, run the Offline SIM APN again.

If you still want to find out how to edit the apns.conf, use the "Root Browser" app or any other root file manager.
Navigate to /etc folder and open apns.conf in any editor or you may transfer it to PC for editing and putting it back with the file manager again. To transfer to a PC copy it to /sdcard folder or so. You should probably make a backup copy anyway.

If you installed my previous "C811 Call Blocking" app please uninstall it.
Install this as a normal app.
There are two switches.

When "Enable non-Verizon SIM" is set, it does not block calls so the "Receive incoming calls" setting gets "On" and disabled.

I discovered the popup setting thanks to this thread.

I installed the APK and the Problem for "SIM from unknown source" is ressolved. But i need help with few more things please.

1) the Data service will not work only incoming and outgoing is working.
2) i want to upgrade the OS , it is stuck on 4.2.2 . How can i do that.

I have a Casio G'zOne Commando 4G LTE C811 (Verizon)
And i am using it india with Vodafone Carrier.

1) I have this problem to. Sometimes mobile data is not being simply enabled. The work around is to toggle airplane mode:
- enable Mobile Data
- enable Airplane Mode
- disable Airplane Mode
2) The current OS is 4.1.2, no newer versions were released for this device.

I tried a lot to follow the step , first Enable the Mobile Data , Then Enable the Airplane mode, Then after 5 mins disable the Airplane mode. But no good it remains on the plain network bars. no Edge or 3G or 4G signs no Data connection Arrows.

@Doctoror please help or create something that we can use the data. or else i have stop using this phone when i am outside us and not using Verizon Wireless. and i am 90% always out due to work and study.

Please help .

Can you please tell me how can use the Data . I am getting incoming calls as wells messages and even the outgoings are working fine . Its only that i am not able to get he Data activated.

Please help, I am using the phone in india.
