What phone would you recommend?

The only thing on that list that I care a lot about is phone size. Water resistance could be handy (I'm klutzy) but isn't a must since I've never had it anyway. I don't care if it takes an SD card as long as there's enough internal memory for stuff. I use a lot of apps & have music, & I keep some pics on my phone, so I don't want to run out of space. I also don't want the phone to be too ginormous, it has to fit in my purse or the front pocket of my jeans sometimes. OK... I guess I do care about some of the other things, just in varying degrees :D

Otherwise, camera is the thing that matters the most to me - it has to be able to take decent pics (better than my G3), since it would be my only camera.

I just realized how silly this sounds: "The thing I care most about a phone, is the camera". LOL

Top 5 things as of this moment (I'm a woman & it's my prerogative to change my mind!), ranked in order of importance
1 - camera that takes decent pics in normal as well as low light/outdoor nighttime situations
2 - reasonably newish but not so new that it breaks the bank. maybe a year old or newer?
3 - phone shouldn't be any bigger than... don't know exact size, it just has to fit where I need to put it
4 - enough room for all the apps, pics & music I want to put on it
5 - also has the ability to go on the internet, make phone calls, send texts... ;)

Cool!
One quick recommendation comes to mind:
samsung-galaxy-s6-active-black.png

Might be a bit thick for pocketability, but,it's got a lot going for it,guessing the camera is equal to your friends Note5..........

I think I have it narrowed down to the LG G4 or the Moto X Pure. Everything I've read says the G4 takes "excellent" pics, but I'm skeptical.

Oh - one other criteria I forgot to mention above is that I don't want the newer usb-c style charger, because I don't want to replace all of my charging cords just yet.

Any thoughts on the G4 vs the Moto X Pure in terms of cameras? I'm finding stuff that seems to say they're both good.

Oh thanks! I did look before I asked but I wasn't sure those would legitimately work.

So the last thing I'm wondering about now is compatibility with the t-mobile network. The phones I'm thinking of are the moto x pure or one of the nexus phones - last night when I stopped into the t-mobile store, the lady there was telling me an unlocked phone "might not be compatible" with some new 700 mhz thing they're rolling out?

Is there any truth to that, or was she just annoyed I might not buy a phone from them?

I ended up deciding on the Nexus 5X. I actually had to buy one from Best Buy in order to test it out (there are no stores near me with floor models to play with), which I then returned & ordered a phone from Google. I need insurance on my phone (I'm a klutz) and I know I could have gotten it from Best Buy - but it seems like the Google insurance is a better deal. Plus this way I have to activate the phone on Fi service (in order to get a credit back on the phone, from Google) so I can get an idea of what that service is like. Unless I'm really happy with the service, I'm planning on putting it onT-Mobile.

I'm struggling a little with the 5X. My current (soon to be de-activated with Sprint) phone is an LG G3, and the 5X has a little smaller display than what I'm used to.

When I compare both phones side by side, I think "ugh, I don't know if I can deal with the display being smaller." If I don't compare them, I do notice the text is a tad smaller than what I'm used to, & with my aging eyes (I'm not that old, but still) I wonder if that will end up bothering me.

Part of my mindset is that when I looked at the Moto X in the store (the other phone I was considering) I instantly liked it; it's a little bit bigger phone but not that different in overall size to the G3. I feel kind of "meh" about the Nexus - it looks boring & bland & the Moto had character. I ultimately picked the Nexus because I've never had a Google phone, it was cheaper, & I read that the Nexus has a good camera.

But I'm still struggling. Hopefully I get used to it & quit whining soon - I just ordered a purple case so maybe that will make it feel more fun & interesting :p

Don't get the S6!

I despise mine with a passion. The camera is great, but frequently takes pics out of focus, which will drive you crazy, usually at the worst possible time.

The battery "life", lack of waterproofing or shockproofing, fragile glass build and so on, make it a wannabe iPhone.

If you're not blown away by the S7 you'll come to hate the S6. It's a pathetic phone that should never have been released.
