I swear this thing is overpriced garbage. I have the metro pcs variant running rooted stock tmobile marshmallow. Its been running mm since it was available for tmo just fine.

I have root. Twrp busybox xposed etc.

Last night i stuck my phone on the charger for an hr when it was at 75%.

When i came back it still read 75% but i figured it was a glitch and a simple reboot would refresh everything and it would show it was fully charged.

After i got out of the shower i noticed it was STILL at 75%.

i had to pull the battery and then it started to charge again.

Today i was at 30 something percent and stuck it on the charger while i went for a 5 mile jog. After i came back it was 36%.

I pulled the battery again and now its starting to charge again.

W.T.F?

When the battery is fully charged it seems to last as long as it ever did...for example it was off the charger for 10 hrs but i was at 92% when i unplugged and it was at 38% or so 10 hrs later when i went to charge it again and i was playing at least an hr of modern combat 5 and i also used it for an hr streaming podcasts on google play music in addition to average use...so the battery seems to hold up when it can actually be charged.

Anyone else had this issue? Fixes?

Im not convinced the battery is at fault just yet. For instance my battery is going out on my nexus 10 and it progressively takes longer and longer to charge and sometimes it only wants to charge while powered off etc.

My stylo charges pretty quickly and its even charging quickly now while im tying this up from my stylo. I went from 23 to 29 percent while tying this up which is quick for the screen being on.

Im trying not to buy another device until the new nexus devices are released this fall...so its either this or ill have to go back to some old android i have lying around (my options arent great). All i gave access to in the way of phones that work with metro's new gsm service is a friggin lg f6 (1.2 gb of end-user space) and a mess of a phone samsung galaxy light (eww)

What do i do besides pull the battery every single time i want to charge it?

Could something system side be the culprit? I havent made build prop or other system changes in at least a month yet this just started happening last night

Have not expeienced those problems on my stylo, but i have experienced my phone having some extra battery juice. For some reason when i play like a intense game or watch a video for awhile the phone starts discharging crazy and goes to 50% . Then when i leave the phone alone for awhile its brings the battery back to 60% ? As for your problem perhaps its the charger? Happened to me before .

Calling this phone overpriced garbage is too harsh. You get name brand smart phone with 5.7' screen, Quad Core, MM OS under $150 (I bought it when it was $130).

At this moment you just have to cross check and see what's causing the problem.

1. Try to stock restore (go back to LP) and see if problem exists.

2. If you still have battery problem try to get 2nd battery and see if it charges.

3. If nothing works then you can assume it's a phone / battery problem. Issue a repair ticket from LG Warranty site and get it repaired. LG G Stylo has 1 year warranty on it so you should be able to get it.

As a mater of fact, I just sent G Stylo to LG Repair center yesterday. My wife's G Stylo has GPS issue so I had to issue an warranty repair. Mine has no problem at all.

Thanks for the offer viper. I definitely believe you but metro is what i use and they no longer support cdma. Only gsm. I still have my lg motion. But since its cdma i can't use it.

I do intend to try and tough it out until this fall. Thank you though. I really appreciate you trying to help me out here.

Really? Calling it overpriced garbage is too harsh? I paid 50 dollars for my lg motion in 2012. Ive dropped it count less times over the years. Ive pretty much abused the crap out of it. The case its in has fallen apart but that thing still works flawlessly.

This stylo i have has been in a really nice case since day 1 and babied like its the my most valuable device yet it doesnt matter because the build quality on these things is absolute s**t.

I bought these as apart of a good promotion the day before xmas 2015. Within one week i had to send it back because the device was constantly restarting itself and freezing up without warning or reason.

Then within 2 weeks of that the new one had the damn dead gps problem ive heard is common for this model

Then now im on my third one and like 2 months ago i noticed it had the screen flicker issue at high brightness. I considered returning it (for a third time if you lost count) but given they wouldve charged me $15 dollars and id have to get the rom of the metro variant and flash it and pretty much return to stock i decided it was more trouble than its worth.

And now the (im assuming) battery issue.

Tell me how this is not overpriced garbage? Dont just rattle off specs either because specs me squat when you cant use them because you're too busy sending the damn thing back in and waiting/setting up a new one

Ive played the return to stock...back up my data...send it back...get a new one...go through the process of rooting. Twrp. Downloading all my apps.

Enough is enough. Idk how metro can give me 3 phones and they (lg stylo) STILL have problems. That by definition makes it overpriced garbage. Its been 6 months and 2 days and i keep needing to send it back . thats unreasonable considering i have devices that go back as 2011/2012 that were budget devices that have actually held up.

Is your battery swollen? When you remove it can you spin it around on a flat surface? A bubbled battery will spin around easy. It also could be that it's not charging because it's too hot.

Otherwise, like Bard said, it sounds like your charger. Does it connect to a computer and transfer data at a normal speed?

Additionally, check out how to wipe battery stats.

Come on nexus release! I can't wait to smash This thing with a hammer. Lg totally screwed this one up.

Meh. Metro isn't the only purveyor of LG junk, but it is nicely priced for what you get. Sometimes. I actually, after almost 2+ years gave my Nexus 5 the Gronk spike at work today. Sick of it. Glad I did it.

The Nexus line isn't all its cracked up to be either. Nexus 4, 5 and 6 all had their share of problems, but you got a great phone, easily unlocked, and easily modded for dirt cheap. Google them all and see.

Even tho I feel most Metro LG smartphones are crap (I've owned most of them with exception of the Esteem), you can't mock the price. You're complaining about poor performance on a decent phone you've hacked up with xposed mods. Try a new cable and charger and then restore it to 100% factory with a KDZ flash and start all over.
