Romulous how? After rooting your phone? The drain was just gone? Or maybe after root You did something to the drain or did u used a root app to disable the dain? Help us i have the same problem .. U used cf auto root but the cf auto root g928f is for uk only because the buildno. Is different.. Mine is g928fxxs2bpe2 italy.. While in cf auto root its g928fxxs2bpc6 UK .. Is it okay to use that .. All is okay except the build no. Needed is different
I had the same problem after moving to Marshmallow, allegedly 'deep sleep' is the cause of the problem, rooting my phone cured the problem but i tripped knox which i am not concerned about.

Drkq we have the same problem, they said appops can disable wakelocks but need root , apparantly there is no legitimate rooting method for g928f only cf auto root but the problem is that .. The build no. Required is not the same .. My build no. Is as the same as you drkq it is also italy.. I cant find any way to do root it.. Romulous ..after root the wakelock will just be gone?

I cant answer how or why this worked for me, i am not a dev, but i am comfortable rooting my phone, your mileage may vary.

In regards to the build, i have an international S6 Edge+ but my country is Ireland, so this was something that i did not even worry about.

I am now back at work and i have had moderate usage on my phone today, i would not be a power user but i am currently on 11 hours and 42 mins with almost 5 hours left on the battery and i will take that over the severe power drain that i experienced after i went OTA to MM.

I can't say that the Chainfire autoroot version will work on your phone [Italy] but on my previous iteration of android S4 International i had flashed a Vodafone 'Black Edition' onto my '3 network' and it worked perfectly.

Incidentally, i had to re root the phone 2 days ago as i lost root - i have no idea why and the only reason i noticed this was twofold;

1. adverts had appeared again on some of my apps which is just a PITA, after i rooted the first time i had manually installed the 'hosts' file from MoaAB.

2. Titanium backup and seeder were denied root from #superuser even though these had previously worked.

I think it will work for me but my build number will change for sure.it is already stated its for g928f so i think build number wont matter... its worth a try .. i am confused as to why you lost your root access .. adverts appearing is a sign that you lost your su access.. maybe you tampered something but i dont think so.. but maybe that happen because you didnt meet the build number requirements for root.. we dont know.. and lastly can take a screen shot of your build number just to make sure..

Woah bpd2 .. from what i think it will work for me.. can you put the link of cf auto root you used? Was it this..? https://download.chainfire.eu/802/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-zenlte-zenltexx-smg928f.zip

And also can you enter recovery mode ? They say if you go to recovery mode .. the dm verity verification will fail?

Hi Azis.

So i read your post and thought, hmmm, i haven't actually installed a recovery yet, my all time favourite being Philz touch recovery that i used exclusively on my S4.

What should have been relatively easy turned out to be a chore, i have been sat here pretty much all day and have only 'now' been able to boot into TWRP 3.0.0-0 with about 10 soft bricks in between! Talk about a PITA!

Most of the information i read after the first attempt failed, however this was probably down to me trying to install multiple kernels and recoveries without doing a full wipe and clearing Dalvik cache and cache which would probably have cured the problem.

So now i am fully rooted, have my custom Kernal TWRP 3.0.0-0 and i can now install whatever i want.

The only downside so far is that certain ROOT apps are not working as they used to on my S4, so Quickboot which allows one touch boot to recovery doesn't work, and neither does ClockworkMod to an extent. This is not major as i can do everything else i want.

So i guess the process would be;

Backup all your precious data/accounts/sync google/pics etc
Boot into recovery
Fully wipe phone/cache and dalvik
Boot into download mode
Install MM via Odin
Check install to ensure everything is ok
Flash Chainfire Autoroot via Odin
Check all ok
Flash Recovery of your choice [i eventually used twrp-3.0.0-0-nobleltezt-nobleltezt.img.tar]
Install SU via your recovery
Install Kernel of your choice compatible with your device

*Edit* Just tested a recovery script in Busybox and it worked perfectly rebooting to recovery, guess the other apps need a bit of updating!

Are u saying twrp nobleltezt works for edge+? I think that is for note 5.. i cant even wipe my dalvik cache because i am currently using the built in recovery which sucks and with the dm verification which makes it worse....
So if i root my phone using cf auto root ..(assumung it wont brick)
Will i still be able to enter recovery mode(built in) without installing custom kernel and recovery? Im afraid if i dont flash custom recovery, my phone will undergo dm verification brick..
P.S, I would totally done the same thing you did if my carrier csc is the same as yours Ireland

Yes that is the root file I used.

I see no reason to not use a custom recovery as it will give you more latitude to install other add ons easier.
Hey dude i just rooted my phone now .. i followed your instruction to install twrp noblelte and flashed super su .. ghad im so happy it didnt brick.. and also i became very happy when the wakelocks are gone .. yèsssssss... it can go deeplseep now.. no more android os drain which so PITA ..thank you very much dude .. without you .. i will surely succumb in wakelocks and charge 3x a day ..so this thread is solved thanksss
