Gyroscope acting weird

Hello Forum,

I have a THL T200C mobile phone with Android 4.2.2 installed. Recently (since VR is coming in sight) I've noticed that my gyroscope is not working properly. The tilting to the front and backwards is doing the oposite they should be. Tiltilng left and right is working fine. Now here comes the tricky party. This was measured with the built int G-Sensor checker. When I download a sensor tool (Sensor Box for Android for example) that shows the gyroscope values without any issue. Tilting left-right-up-down, all fine.
So I've downloaded Google Cardboard and I can't use it because when I turn my head left, the picture turns right. If I turn it right, it goes left. So clearly it is using the built in g sensor that is not working.

Do you have any idea or sollution how to fix this very annoying error?

It's not a problem of being down-under... :D Much more like someone screwed-up with the gyro implementation in the phone, i.e. it's a bug. Especially given that THL is a cheapo China phone, might never have been fully tested and debugged probably. Possibly a firmware update could fix it.

Could try contacting THL about it, they're in China. :thumbsupdroid:

EDIT:

I've tried some of these VR apps on a Chinese Oppo R7 Plus, and they all work fine. So it's definitely a problem with the THL phone, probably one or two of the gyro axis are reversed.
