I use an app called remote web desktop, you can just look at it in the playstore, you really need to buy the full version to have access to all your files. basically what you do is open up the browser on your pc, start the app and it tells you what to type into your address bar: http:// then like your isp and on your screen (pc) will come up a bunch of different options. You will then go into the settings on your phone and choose wifi keyboard, and then you will be using your pc keyboard. it comes in handy when you have to type in things into your build prop or something like that. you can do all your texting this way, or you can connect via ftp server instead, I have airdroid also, well, I really have doubletwist, but that doesn't let you get into your files...just songs, pics, and videos. I was looking for something and came across this and it is wonderful.

Old thread, but if I found it others will.

I checked into AirDroid and Android MyMobiler. Then I realized that my Outlook sync app has a "control/screen shot" function (works only over USB). I played with it some and it worked pretty good. Then I did proceed to check out AirDroid and Android MyMobiler, and neither worked as well.

So check out MyPhoneExplorer. Very little descriptive info is provided up front, and you sorta have to figure it out yourself (forum, english section, 'faq' has a little installation info), but I found it to work quite well. Feature is buried in the menu under 'extras'-'control phone/load screenshot'. 'Auto refresh' probably updates screen a couple times a second; look beautiful, though; can adjust zoom. Control works well. Can rotate screen. Saves screen shots to PC drive. Seems some people have had some issues with KitKat. I've used it on GB, ICS and JB.

I also used to use MyMobiler on Windows Mobile; yes, that was slick. It didn't quite make a full transition to Android and doesn't seem to be actively supported.

My issue is that I need this connectivity exclusively thought USB. AirDroid is a decent solution otherwise. But wont fill my needs.

I used Soti pocket Controller for the longest time and it worked flawlessly. But it only supports up to Android 4.2 and promptly stopped working after my phone auto updated to 4.3.

I started using My Mobiler after that and while not as good, it totally did the trick for the most part. Last night, my phone auto updated to 4.4 kitkat... and today.. MyMobiler doesn't work. :-(

Does anyone have any other solutions that they can suggest please?
